Any objections against changing the page name to "Murder of...", which seems to be the standard? Lampman Talk to me! 01:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why should this article be in Wikipedia? It is not my intention to be insensitive, but murders is very common, many thousands happens every day. Why is this case special? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BrusNO (talkcontribs) 22:03, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable speculation?[edit]

An activist (in Yemen on "behalf of" of Martine Vik Magnussen) has been stabbed, according to http://www.dagbladet.no/2011/05/14/nyheter/martine-saken/martine_vik_magnussen/innenriks/martine-drapet/16534112/ .

I don't think that the speculation (about relevance to the murder case) is notable enough, yet.--Lebanese pop (talk) 09:38, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not okay[edit]

"which he said have allowed the man suspected of his daughter's killing, Abdulhak, to get away".--Someone might want to consider removing that fatherly POV from the article.--The article is already clear that the suspect has not been arrested yet. 2001:2020:319:E4EE:24F0:7174:FA47:8B28 (talk) 15:35, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not okay language[edit]

" in the basement of an apartment block, hidden under rubble, in a block of flats in".--Anyone can try to fix this, if one does not like that the same idea gets presented two times. 2001:2020:319:E4EE:24F0:7174:FA47:8B28 (talk) 15:38, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

 Done, thanks. 2001:2020:337:AA3A:9C6C:CE8:A45F:E61 (talk) 20:25, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Provincial outlook (from North Europe)[edit]

Moved to discussion: "Yemeni news coverage: According to the Norwegian TV channel TV2, the local Arab media in Yemen did not mention that the son of one of the country's richest men, Shaher Abdulhak (1938 – 2020), was wanted for questioning regarding the death of Magnussen. Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the Arab world, and Shaher Abdulhak was the founder and owner of a Yemen-based company that is involved with regional trade and industry; he was the chairman for the hotel Taj Sheba in Sanaa, and was an executive with the Yemen franchise of Coca-Cola. He had political influence in Sanaa, with close connections to the government.[1]".--This section does not seem encyclopedic, as of 2023.--This text does not seem to need to be in this article. 2001:2020:319:E4EE:24F0:7174:FA47:8B28 (talk) 15:53, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"a silver costume diamond ring" - what article can that link to[edit]

Assumption: so, this is not a custom-made ring (which thru Norwegianism, easily can translate into "costume ...").--Please find an appropriate article (to link to) regarding "costume rings" etc. 2001:2020:319:E4EE:24F0:7174:FA47:8B28 (talk) 16:47, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to talk page[edit]

  • "On 23 March 2008, it was reported that Abdulhak had appeared at the offices of lawyer Mohammed al Bakwli in Sanaa seeking legal assistance.[1] Mr. al Bakwli says Abdulhak can be questioned by British authorities, as long as it happens in Yemen.[2] "--Wiki-notability has not been shown. 2001:2020:319:E4EE:683C:988F:27BA:E597 (talk) 17:07, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wishful thinking etc?[edit]

"celebrating coming top of her class".--I am guessing that someone has made a mistake (or that Wikipedia is being stringed along).--I am not arguing that maybe a friend has said to a Norwegian newspaper, that, yeah she was a verrri talented student. However, I seriously doubt that there are any adequate sources that can give any indication of her ranking in regard to exams. 2001:2020:337:AA3A:1002:5435:6F6:F204 (talk) 19:15, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Move to talk page (anyone else, please)[edit]

"A demonstration in Oslo on 1 December 2009 called for further action from Norwegian authorities".--Reason: the wiki-notability of that protest/demonstration, has not been shown.--That part sounds more like a memorial page on social media, than an encyclopedia. 2001:2020:337:AA3A:1002:5435:6F6:F204 (talk) 19:30, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Slander etc. (moved to talk page)[edit]

" The same friends said in the BBC documentary that Farouk had tried to kiss Martine previously before the night they went out to Maddox and that Martine clearly had shown that she was not interested in Farouk kissing her. She turned away from the kiss. Martine told friends she and Farouk was just friends and that she did not want a relationship with him. At the nightclub Farouk stod very close to Martine and acted differently than he had on previous occasions." 2001:2020:337:AA3A:A8C9:47F3:856A:58AA (talk) 23:41, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If there is a wiki-notable source that says that "named witness 1" saw that the suspect kissed the victim, should that be added to the article (as long as there is an estimation about how many months or weeks did that happen before the murder.)--The wiki-article has at times, already gone down a slippery slope of tabloid-like presentation. 2001:2020:337:AA3A:6C2F:DDA3:F3D7:8C9F (talk) 02:53, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
