Other naviducts[edit]

This article seems to focus almost exclusively on the naviduct at Enkhuizen (just look at the citations). It appears that the Dutch article for Naviduct also does the same thing. Do other naviducts exist at this time, or may we be better off titling this article "Krabbersgat Naviduct" or something of the sort? Joe SchmedleyT* 15:51, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A very good question. A more detailed look at the citations reveals that the "naviduct at Enkhuizen" (no capitalisation of naviduct) is the first of its type. It is quite conceivable that as traffic increases over the dikes of the Netherlands, the delays incurred by the opening of bridges on both maritime and road traffic may trigger the building of more. This was why the article is generic; if a new naviduct project is announced, readers will find a description of what it is here. The Friesian Wikipedia articles are probably a good example of how not to resolve this - they have been separated without there being enough relevant text available and both the Naviduct and Krabbersgat Naviduct articles are short stubs. By all means do some more research and pad out the article with relevant information; when it gets big enough, splitting it up can be discussed. Alternatively, if a news item appears stating that (because of some technical or political issue) there will no more naviducts, it can be renamed, but that situation does not yet apply. The dutch government has been considering another naviduct on the Afluitsdijk. There seems to be some WP:RS material available (in Dutch) and I'll add it to the article.Wikiwayman (talk) 09:26, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I was just curious. Thanks! Joe SchmedleyT* 19:12, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
