Columns in Reference list

I noticed that after changing the number of columns in the ref list from 1 to two (that my WIKISOO instructor helped me with), I then changed it to three to accommodate the number of citations. Another user changed it to reflist|30em and I am wondering what that means.

It seems to have reverted to 2 columns, which is fine, but because I still learning coding, I'm curious. Netherzone (talk) 15:37, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Restructuring and other feedback

Hi all, you'll see I've made the bold move of restructuring this article in an effort to improve its logical flow. I also feel that generally the article needs condensing, though this is not the case for all sections. For example, the Three Mile Island meltdown section really needs more information to show how it relates to this page's topic. In the case of other incidents, the amount of background info associated with each should be reviewed, given that detail on these facilities and events exists elsewhere on Wikipedia already. I hope this feedback is constructive. Danimations (talk) 13:22, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the work that has ben done on this page to help restructure it. I will continue to refine it based on your constructive feedback. As a relatively new editor (attended a Wikipedia-sponsored workshop, then online WikiSOO class one year ago), this was my first attempt to create an article that is somewhat in-depth. Your work and feedback has helped answer questions I've had on page organization and content. I'll work on the TMI section, and others. Ever onward. Netherzone (talk) 15:48, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Great, I'm glad you agree with the reshaping. Here's another research lead for you: you should be able to break out the New Zealand & Australia section under uranium mining into two sections- one for each country. The uranium mining industry developed in Australia with some known consequences to workers' health. An epidemiology study looking at lung cancer incidence in a cohort of uranium miners from Radium Hill, a mine in South Australia, was published around 1990. You should be able to reference that article on this page. Danimations (talk) 16:07, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Here's the paper for you: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1873450 Danimations (talk) 16:14, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Thank you Danimations for this link. I'm having difficulty downloading the actual paper from PubMed. I will see if any of my colleagues have permissions to do so (we don't have a med school at the university where I teach but perhaps someone in Enviro Science can help.) In the meantime, if you have access, is it possible to send a PDF? Sorry to trouble you, but I'm very interested in learning & sharing more about how these issues affect the Southern Hemisphere, and improving the Wikipedia article. Many thanx. Japanese sources

Hi, I thought this source might be of interest to you, should you wish to expand the Japanese section of this article. http://www.jaif.or.jp/en/tepco-carries-out-safety-inspections-after-fatal-accidents/ --Danimations (talk) 04:18, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the link. I will read it and when I find a moment integrate the recent facts into the page. Netherzone (talk) 14:04, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Radiation Exposure Compensation Act

Here's another article to which this article should link (and potentially include a concise summary): Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. Over $2 billion dollars has been paid in compensation to persons who have suffered contamination through their employment or proximity to nuclear industrial activity. --Danimations (talk) 04:49, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Netherzone

Hi Netherzone, looks like there is a ton of work you did for this! You don't seem to have suffered at all from my challenge of being able to hunt down sources, where a lot of the work that goes into Wikipedia seems to be related to. I didn't get a chance to help and review other WikiSOO class member's pages but I've added this to my Watchlist and will be interested to take a look at it, especially the content and cited sources related to Fukushima (especially documentaries). DavidBoudreau (talk) 11:01, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

@User:DavidBoudreau Hi David, thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! There is a lot of material on the article page that needs reformatting - links and such from a bibliography I've been compiling. I hope to contextualize this material into the text sections & respective citations. Once I make time to do that, the page will have a better visual look and the content will be organized more appropriately. Am thinking of moving all the film & video links to a section at the bottom. Glad to know it's on your watch list! There is a lot of Fukushima material to add - as the scientific papers are beginning to emerge. Netherzone (talk) 13:06, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
