GCPO sash[edit]

Article states "Knights / Dame Grand Cross (GCPO): who wear a wide dark blue silk ribbon (sash) bordered with red which extends saltire-wise from the left shoulder to the right side where the star of the order is suspended by a rosette...." Accompanying illustration shows it reaching from the right shoulder to the left hip. Which is correct? 71.233.90.196 (talk) 04:11, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, a saltire is a diagonal cross. The illustration shows the sash worn bendwise; as described in the article, the sash appears as a bend sinister. 71.233.90.196 (talk) 04:15, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Original name of the order?[edit]

Since it was first created in 1560, but Pius IX, after whom it is named, was not around till the 19th century, it must have had a different name before Pius IX re-instituted it. Details? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 09:14, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
