Should Riff have its own article?[edit]

The importance of the Riff as a concept in jazz, rock and blues is so great, does it not deserve a separate article where it can be explored in greater depth? Ostinato is just a technique in classical music, the riff is the foundation on which heavy rock music is built. Stub Mandrel (talk) 13:42, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It used to have its own article, but was merged here in 2009. I have restored the article: Riff, so now people can riff away to their heart's content! SilkTork (talk) 14:23, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Conservatory of Music[edit]

I asked for clarification on the statement "In RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), a level 8 theory definition..." for the following reasons:

1. In RCM...what? 2. What is a "level 8 theory definition"?

Also, stylistically, the sentence should be written "In the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)...." I will wait until the asserted statement is clarified to change that, though. Matuko (talk) 14:03, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Theme from Game of Thrones[edit]

Could someone please add the theme from Game of Thrones as an example of ostinato? (ref: Music of Game of Thrones) It is a popular and recent piece of music. Unfortunately, I’m not a musician and the complexity of the code is beyond this inexperienced editor. Humphrey Tribble (talk) 15:51, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Roxy Rideout?[edit]

If anyone knows what a Roxy Rideout is (referred to at the end of the section on Musical Theatre), please create the Roxy Rideout WP page! Ross Fraser (talk) 08:30, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
