Concept Album?[edit]

In this interview ( http://www.metal-temple.com/interview.asp?id=362 ) with the lead singer, he specifically states this is not a concept album.

" So,"Paradise Lost" is not a concept album.

No, it isn’t. It’s like "The Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd; it is not a story but it deals with life and death and things in between. The new album deals with feelings about what’s going on like love, betrayal, lost and revenge. Vanity is a big thing in the first few songs. The parallel to the book with Satan as a character is about all these feeling that he has. In the videos we did the director wanted to go in a more literal way which is fine with us because it is more impressive."

That's interesting. I thought that this album had to be a concept album. Well, that explanation sure makes sense. It's not a concept album, but it has reoccuring themes, I guess. Backtable71792^c 11:40 17 September 2007(Eastern Time)

As far as Í know, a concept album doesn't necessarily néed to focus on any story at all (that's called a rock opera). Instead, concept albums are focussed on... well, a concept.. meaning a recurring theme, setting, character, feeling or anything like that. I've now changed the page back to the category of Concept Albums. I looked on the wikipedia-page for Concept album and the first line already says: "In popular music, a concept album is an album which is "unified by a theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, narrative, or lyrical".^[1]", which is exactly what Paradise Lost is. The Accolade?[edit]

My version of "Revelation (Divus Pennea ex Tragoedia)" ends with a sequence from "The Divine Wings of Tragedy", rather than with a segment of "The Accolade".

Lovecraft?[edit]

Honestly this is an unreliable source, it probably should be removed all together unless the author can cite it sufficiently. John Milton is the one whom wrote Paradise Lost, however we can not be certain what he said so it would be unwise to change it. AH, I want new Symphony X. Peregrine 15:02, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The bass player, Mike LePond, is a big fan of H. P. Lovecraft. "Revelation"[edit]

any idea what the parenthetical note in Revelation's title is about? it looks like a poor translation of the phrase "Divine Wings of Tragedy", but literally means something more like "God of the wing, out of tragedy". is there some other meaning in there? Zxjams 04:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not... it seems someone removed the sections stating that "Revelation" was a sequel of sorts of "The Divine Wings of Tragedy", hence the similar melodies in some parts and the Latin translation. = ∫_t^c 5th Eye 15:02, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

60:66 As said in the booklet[edit]

In the infobox, it says that the album is 61:06. It also says beside it, in parenthesis, that it is 60:66 as said in the booklet. I own this album (and it's awesome, if you ask me) and I don't recall ever seeing the time lengths ov the songs, let alone the total time as 60:66. When I get home today (I'm at school now), I'm going to look through the Paradise Lost booklet and see whether this guy's claim is true that it says it's 60:66 in the booklet. I looked in the booklet for this album and that guy who said that it was depicted as 60:66 in the booklet is right. In case you don't know where it is, the total time thing ov 60:66 is on the final page ov the booklet in really small text below the fancy picture. So, that settles that event.
