Hi! I think the term PTG has actually changed to PVTG - found references from these articles at TOI and The Hindu. Parts of the National Tribal Policy (that was in draft) have been enacted - I would really like to quote the policy, 'There is, however, a need to change the name, even though this may be merely cosmetic. The term ‘primitive’ has derogatory overtones and therefore will be changed through this Policy to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PTGs)' and move this page to 'Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups' to reflect the change. @Clovermoss, please review the previous discussion regarding the name change from "Primitive Tribal Groups" to "Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups," which was previously agreed upon by users. However, the name was changed to "Particularly vulnerable tribal group." Consequently, I have corrected it to "Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups", ensuring proper capitalization and pluralization, as officially used. Similar to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Here is a quote for reference:"Who are PVTGs? In 1960-61, the Dhebar Commission identified disparities among Scheduled Tribes, leading to the creation of the Primitive Tribal Groups (PTG) category. In 2006, this category was renamed Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs)."

I believe my thoughts at the time were that there wasn't an official page move discussion (and that there should probably be a Requested move discussion that wasn't from a decade ago). However, a reread of WP:MOSPLURAL has an exception for religious/ethnic/national groups of people exists so this page move likely isn't actually all that contentious, especially given that is the name used in the sources. Unless someone else objects and thinks there should be a move discussion on purely procedural grounds, I'm willing to move it back. Clovermoss🍀(talk) 13:43, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to revert this undiscussed move because I don't think that the article titles policy was applied correctly. Examination of sources suggests that capitalization of "particularly vulnerable tribal groups" may be the majority position in RS, but not "consistently capitalized" as required by MOS:CAPS.[1] SC/ST looks a bit closer to that standard, but it may not be consistently capitalized either.[2] Please take this to WP:RM if you disagree.
