Scope of this article / Marked for deletion[edit]

One of the reasons that I marked this article for deletion is because the scope of the article was so broad, it was unclear what the original creator's purpose was for the article. We already have a number of articles relating to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Pesticides | Pesticides}}, which seems to duplicate a lot of the material in the article. If this article is to be maintained, I suggest an editor give the Wikipedia community a sense of what should be covered within this article. DivaNtrainin (talk) 23:48, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are several articles on pesticides. As they continue to take on an increasing role, there are likely to be more. I responded to the particulars on the delete page. As this article accretes content and editors, its destiny will become clearer. Lfstevens (talk) 07:22, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I just edited the "development of new pesticides" section on the page:pesticides. Unfortunately I did not realize that this page on pesticide research existed. The page contains a number of aspects, perhaps more reflecting the interest of the person who put them in, so it is not encyclopedic. Personally I do not want to edit this page to make it all-encompassing. It would involve a lot of very carefull work. The subject is so specialized that I suggest the interested person should look at the cited literature and reviews if he wants more depth. In my opinion the best and very thorough overview of the industrial process in a lecture series by Ling ( http://www.oxfordsynthesiscdt.ox.ac.uk/resources/SBM-CDT-Agrochemistry.pdf), which is one of the reviews cited in "development of new pesticides" section on the page:pesticides, Bosula (talk) 15:06, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
