Age at death[edit]

We've got some conflicting information Eckersley's age at death. Naked Security says he was 43 ("he turned just 43 shortly before midsummer’s day this year"). Wall Street Journal says he died at 44. Any thoughts on how to handle this? The WSJ also says he was born in 1978, not 1979. GorillaWarfare (she/her • talk) 15:58, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Peter's sister told me today that his correct date of birth is June 13, 1978. I don't have any WP:RS for this assertion, though. Schoen (talk) 02:05, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(If I understood her properly, the June 15, 1979 date that many people seem to endorse is actually a false date that Peter posted on Facebook in the past in order to add some noise to electronic databases and profiling systems! It's quite understandable that people would regard this date as accurate if they got it from Peter himself via Facebook. Perhaps I can get ahold of an official document such as a death certificate via the vital statistics agency here in San Francisco.) Schoen (talk) 08:31, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@GorillaWarfare or anyone else interested in this question: I ordered Peter's death certificate from the San Francisco Department of Public Health Office of Vital Records. It states his date of birth as 06/13/1978, date of death as 09/02/2022, and his age at death as 44. This matches what Peter's sister told me when I asked her in person in September.
