Pedophile priests[edit]

I agree that the information on priests should be retained - the issue is not that Jenkins has or has not done research on the area, the issue is that it is verifiable that he said it. I'd personally rather the statement be qualified that it's from a newspaper than a journal, but it's still verifiable. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:^simple/_complex 13:08, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The is almost no serious research (if any) from any side that shows a link between celibacy & child abuse. Further, the % of abusers in the RC clergy may well be less than the general population. That is not the problem. Pedophiles are serial & persistent offenders & are quite resistant to treatment. The cover-up & reassigning of known pedophiles is a real problem.
