Why do you wanna delete the page? They itervew Pia Haraldsen at CNN and FOX News, and she is very famous now because of hte case with James Oddo. I think that a lot of people wants to read about her after this and I can not understand why this should be deleted. Just tell me if there is something you want me to fix at the page. I am from Norway, and I say sorry if i have speed some of the words wrong or something.. Please help me, not just delete it! Fk fredrik, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Might as well keep it, you lot have individuals such as "Ali G" who are as "important" or have the same use. 72.227.229.229 18:03, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is OK know, isn't it? I have fixed some things, and think that this is very good, and enough stuff for peaople. I don't think they need to know now, and i would be happy if all this writing here was for notthing. I have seen other biographies of people here at Wikipedia that are smaller and with not much information. --Fk fredrik 18:31, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I support the speedy deletion of this article[edit]

If it were not for the "James Oddo incident", Pia Haraldsen would still be unknown outside of her home country of Norway. Because she is known to the English speaking world only for this one minor incident, I believe that her article should be deleted from the English version of Wikipedia. It might have a place on the Norwegian version of Wikipedia, but not here! 24.168.42.182 18:42, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The English Wikipedia is not supposed to hold a pro-anglophone systematic bias. The Oddo incident has certainly boosted Haraldsen's notability. Sjakkalle (Check!) 06:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry? Deletion? How famous do you need to be to have an article on Wikipedia? And besides what does it matter whether she is famous in the anglophone world or not? Everybody in Norway and much of the rest of the world uses English Wikipedia as a resource. This is completely ridiculous. Moravice 18:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia isn't just for narrow minded Americans. But talking of Americans, can someone please edit the sentence "councilman reacted to the questions and threw the crew out of his office." Too colloquial, and rather vague. What does "reacted to" mean, for instance? What is omitted - and this is critical - is that the interview was for a comedy programme. Her questions were deliberately ignorant and provocative. It is critical to mention this as otherwise the article is extremely misleading.

I think this should stay[edit]

Maybe students wants to write about the James Oddo incident at school. I think they need information about her too if they want to make it good. This are an importent thing in the media and I think that people should know about the people that started this, and not just that a women made Oddo very angry and make him use bad language and say very many other bad things. This are more important than Norwegian football players and stuff like that, but they are at Wikipedia. What damage can this do? -Nothing! This is just positive and not negative in any way...--Fk fredrik 18:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You already stated your case for keeping the Pia Haraldsen article above, so please refrain from repeating yourself over and over again, "Fk fredrik". A decision will be made by a consensus of wikipedia editors whether or not to keep the article. Thank you. 24.168.42.182 18:56, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the gossip[edit]

There is no point in mentioning that Haraldsen is related to someone who used to be married to someone who is related to someone who happens to be married to the Norwegian king. Neither do Wikipedia need information on her dress choice for a party. But I think this article has its place on Wikipedia, Haraldsen is quite notable, now not only in Norway. --Tannkremen 08:07, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actualy this is how she got famous herself in the first place and therefore quite relevant. She got a job as a program host with this single reference and it is someone everybody in Norway knows about Pia Haraldsen. Moravice 18:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pia Haraldsen (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View log)

I would like to nominate the Pia Haraldsen article for deletion for the second time due to concerns about notability. This person, who is a Borat-style Norwegian television host, is virtually unknown in the English speaking world. She recently had her "15 minutes of fame" in the United States due to her recent "mock" interview of NYC Councilmember James Oddo, but in my opinion, this does not satisfy the notability requirements of Wikipedia (at least on the English language site), as she is only known for this one incident. She currently has entries on both Wikipedia Norwegian language sites, and I feel that is enough as her notoriety does not extend beyond the borders of Norway. -- UPGRAYEDDD 09:14, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pia Haraldsen denied US visa[edit]

According to this article (unfortunately only available in Norwegian), Pia Haraldsen has not been allowed to travel to the US. No reason is given, but the application was denied by Homeland Security. The only possible reason appear to be her stunt against James Oddo. http://www.vg.no/rampelys/artikkel.php?artid=516996 195.159.43.66 (talk) 07:54, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a bit about the affair. Apparently she is not deemed to be a bona fide journalist, however she may apply for an artist visa. __meco (talk) 08:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
