Contesting speedy delete[edit]

I intend to add more sources and establish the notability of this article; as you see this page is just a stub. I'll add more to it when I go home tonight. --Aeon17x (talk) 07:53, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please supply one reference in a reliable 3rd party source to show some evidence of notability. Best to look at Wikipedia:Your first article#Gathering references. Since you have placed a hangon on the page I hope that admins will give you some time to work. I could remove the delete request, but some one may just re add it later. --triwbe (talk) 07:58, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Launch Date[edit]

I have a vague memory of reading something about Plurk being launched on 12th May. Can anyone find a source to confirm this? --Rammi (talk) 17:54, 31 July 2008

Well, here's the blog entry of the lead developer: http://amix.dk/blog/viewEntry/19320 --seav (talk) 07:29, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier versions[edit]

I created an earlier version of this article on June 7 (I think) and that version was deleted on July 10 for notability concerns (despite the presence of 2 reliable sources as references) without so much as an AfD. (See the log.) I suggest to probably wait a while for Plurk to get more coverage before contributing to the article again so that it's more deletion-proof. --seav (talk) 09:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also saw that, too. Unfortunately the older copy is not in Google cache anymore, so I wasn't able to start from where you left off and had to write a new article from scratch. Anyway, let's work on this one and see where we can take it. --Aeon17x (talk) 05:30, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Microsoft Controversy[edit]

Some coverage of the Plurk/Microsoft code copying allegations has been added to the Reception section. I feel a separate section would be better for this, as it is quite big news. Any views? Hermes11111 (talk) 21:25, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, it might be more suitable if it is placed on a separate section. We might as well consider (and maybe merge) the MSN Juku section at MSN China. kazu (talk) 15:13, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is Plurk still working?[edit]

The site is up, but it no longer appears to be working as a social networking site (at least not for members in some countries). I've been an active Plurk user since 2009 with over 1500 posts ("plurks" + "responses"), but have not been able to access my account for several months. Neither have there been any recent logins by any of my Plurk friends, some of whom were ardent posters (40,000+ posts). The login no longer works. The password reset no longer works. The contact form no longer works - the human verification test is "select a cat" from 6 pics; sometimes there is no cat pic; if there is a cat pic and it is selected, the reponse is "you didn't pick a cat". - Oniscoid 01:21, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

responding just so that others reading this in the future will see, the site seems to be fully functional as of 2023, at least from the US 66.214.68.49 (talk) 15:59, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Oniscoid it still works fine on my end and many of my friends too. Forget password still works. Login still works. The core userbase is still there intact. It's still thriving albeit on a small audience limited mostly to East and Southeast Asia where I'm from Haley.Parrot (talk) 22:31, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
