commonly shortend to Predigern[edit]

I question that the church Predigerkirche is usually shortened to Predigern only.

Even the reference given by User:Roland zh which directs to the Kirchgemeinde's (parish) website only uses it for the parish, but not for the church itself! The address given on the webpage is the address of the parish, but not of the church's name. And it is fine to say "Kirchturm Predigern", but not "Predigern" if I only refer to the chruch (building)! Otherwise I (implicitely) would refer to the parish! So in other words: the given reference is not valid. -- ZH8000 (talk) 07:31, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hi, what, a tempest in a teapot.. On version history, on my talk and now... First there are two references added by two different bodies, one of the parish, as that church usually has not a website, so indeed imho there is no worthier reference to find. And last but not least, second many, many years ago we old Zürcher commonly used both term mentioned. So there are in the next days other opinions by as experienced longyear authoring Wikimedians, so it'll no problem for the author to remove these tiny word's, but please please when the offline Christmas 'tasks' are done, and in the meanwhile reduced wiki-meantime I'd prefer to fix some typos, to correct some other aspects and to complete, both Predigerkirche Zürich and Predigerkloster, as well as p.e. to precise the not-national-Bernese Haus der Religionen started shortly before etc ;-) seasonal greetings, hohoho, Roland zh (talk) 09:17, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, given that your two references do both fully fail with WP:VERIFY, since they do totally fail to give just one single example, I will remove them, since it would lead to too much misunderstanding. Further, how you would explain why "https://www.google.ch/search?hl=de&as_q=&as_epq=in+der+Prediger&as_oq=&as_eq=Predigerkirche+Prediger-Kirche+Prediger-Kirch&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=countryCH&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=" does not provide one single successful/valid result (sic!), but "https://www.google.ch/search?hl=de&as_q=&as_epq=in+der+Prediger&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=countryCH&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=#cr=countryCH&hl=de&as_qdr=all&tbs=ctr:countryCH&q=%22in+der+Predigerkirche%22&spell=1" produces more than 4900 results (with a huge amount of valid results). 0:4900 speaks a very clear language – however how small the tea pot might be. So I suppose your Zurich must have existed in quite distant universe then. I even start to doubt that you speak German at all (at least good enough). -- ZH8000 (talk) 21:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
