deletion[edit]

I propose to delete the material on this page and redirect to charismatic. Hyper3 (talk) 18:52, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

disputed[edit]

I doubt that "renewal" is a collective term denoting pentecostals, charismatics and neocharismatics. To my knowledge it is simply a synonym of "revival". Ninety Mile Beach (talk) 15:26, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I propose this page should be a redirect to Charismatic Christianity, which states "Charismatic Christians include Pentecostals, neocharismatics, and members of the charismatic movement", in other words, the same coverage as this article. Nurg (talk) 02:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The following website has the word renewal: http://www.apts.edu/aeimages//File/AJPS_PDF/01-1-SBurgess.pdf Sarcelles (talk) 17:19, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I feel I have to put my two cents in as well. Until I saw this article, I had never neard the term used as an umbrella for the whole Pentecostal/Charismatic movement, and I've been a Pentecostal for 25 years. I don't think Pentecostals use the term renewal very much, if at all. However, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal uses the term, as is apparent. Mmlj4 (talk) 19:01, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Atlas of global Christianity. 1910-2010. Edinburgh Universitiy Press,2009, p. 102 uses the term renewal having this meaning. Sarcelles (talk) 19:08, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
