This page and Vincennes Rivet High School need to be combined under Vincennes Rivet High School.Rhatsa26X (talk) 04:56, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Again. EagleFan (talk) 16:28, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not Done Again! Since there is so many Rivets in the Country and the State and the School is often called Vincennes Rivet the page should correspond to the name, like Vincennes Lincoln High School, Vincennes' other high school which has the same dilemma. This time keep it this way. Rhatsa26X (talk) 18:35, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, all of the information I gathered on the school has disappeared. Why? Rhatsa26X (talk) 18:37, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the school's name is Rivet High School, so Rivet High School (Vincennes, Indiana) is consistent with pretty much every other high school in the country with a wikipedia page. The Rivet High School (Vincennes, Indiana) page was also around when the Vincennes Rivet page was created. So two articles existed for the same school for a while because an editor did not bother to search first. EagleFan (talk) 15:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I confirmed that "Vincennes Lincoln High School" is the name of that school, so that name makes sense.EagleFan (talk) 13:06, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many, many, many schools are referred to with the city name in front of the school name, especially by people outside that particular area. Indianapolis Cathedral, Indianapolis Roncalli, South Bend St. Joseph's, etc. However, those schools are not set up on wikipedia that way. That seems pretty consistent. No use Arguing about it. I obviously don't know what I am talking about, even though I lived in Vincennes, Indiana for a time and I know that it is sometimes called Vincennes Rivet just like Lincoln is usually called Vincennes Lincoln. When a community has more than one high school people both in and outside the city tend to use the community's name first as means of simplifying the name and identifying it with the community. Like with nearby Evansville or Terre Haute. In Terre Haute's case BOTH high schools are usually not referred to by the actual names (i.e. Terre Haute South Vigo and Terre Haute North Vigo, They are simply referred to, even by locals mind you, as either Terre Haute North or Terre Haute South or as simply as North or South. Yes it is called Rivet High School, but guess what? Indiana has multiple schools with the same names, two of them, Washington, and Mount Vernon, are in communities with the same name. I have lived in Southwestern Indiana for nearly 15 years, graduated from both high school and college here, been around the area a few times. I may not know much about Indiana beyon SW Indiana, but I assure you I know much about this area. Rhatsa26X (talk) 02:13, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
