Genres[edit]

@Walter Görlitz: The article List of Christian worship music artists states at the top:

 This is a list of Christian worship music artists or bands. This list includes notable artists or bands that have recorded or been known to perform contemporary worship music at some point in their careers. This includes worship leaders, Christian songwriters, and contemporary Christian music artists. It is not a list of contemporary Christian music artists alone.

This source states: "It is so important that this generation of pastors speak the language of the people and my music complements what I'm doing through my ministry. My music is there to give the message I am already living through my priesthood."

This source states: "Robert’s debut album contains 10 worship songs"

This source states: With strong melodies and intelligent, humble lyrics, these fresh new worship songs reveal the passion of a young songwriter with a gift for disarming and inspiring the listener, while impacting and resourcing worship leaders.

Not to mention he is categorized on iTunes as Christian & Gospel (see [1]) and has an album dedicated to Contemporary Catholic worship which is a contemporary setting to the full Catholic mass (see [2]).

I won't be. This article needs to be correctly sourced. iTunes is not a reliable source for genres. The subject himself is not a reliable source for genres. independent.com.mt has no author so the credentials of the author to determine a musican's genre cannot be determined. christiantoday.com.au is again a quote from the subject himself. This source states that Fr. Robert Galea is an internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter of Christian music.; Here his music is categorized as Praise and Worship; this source states Father Rob said his show will include Christian and rock music; this source refers to one of his albums as a praise and worship project. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 05:42, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

3O Response: We do need reliable sources, or otherwise people will edit-war over genres and genre categories which is a waste of time all around, not to mention that biographical material for living persons must be well sourced. This would be needed to include the article on the list and to mark it with the categories.
I wasn't able to access all of those sources. I personally would have accepted Malta Independent: Christian Music from Robert Galea (used in the article) for the genres "Christian music" and "worship music", but as this has been challenged and there is no credited author (staff writers only) then it would have to be shown that the publication is authoritative for these genres. ChristianToday: Robert Galea uses music to 'Reach Out' to the masses doesn't explicitly mention any genres that I can see. asonevoice is a store and not independent of the subject. Central Western Daily: X Factor priest doesn't appear to have an author. Cross Rhythms: Enter Robert says "The praise and worship project 'Closer'" but has no author, and is a short and bloggy blurb. The best of the bunch may be Aleteia: Is This the First Libby Reichert writes of "his usual Christian rock and worship music". Reichert's page on the site links to five stories. Not the most prolific if this is all she's written. Given BLP policy for sourcing, I'd have to be cautious and support Walter Görlitz on this.
I'm going to further add that Wikipedia:Overcategorization recommends that articles should only have those categories which are "defining characteristics" of the subject. We shouldn't add every category that possibly applies, only the most noteworthy, and that should mean having multiple reliable sources.
