Erwin Eisch, Dominick Labino and Sybren Valkema were not students of Harvey Littleton but colleagues. Harvey Littleton has been called the "Father of the studio glass movement." To my knowledge this article is the first where the title of "Grandfather of the SGM" has been used for him or any of the others. Glassnote (talk) 15:02, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the text to reflect the above and added references. I also removed the part about the "grandfathers of the studio glass movement." The statement is not accurate. Also inaccurate is the statement that Littleton and Labino were trying to reveal the secrets of making Murano glass. They were not. Most people thought of glass as an industrial material that was impossible to work on a small scale. Littleton's aim was to introduce the idea of glass to the individual artist as medium for art making. He wanted to make the melting and working of glass readily available in the artist's studio. Labino assisted Littleton by designing and making a workable small furnace, and by initially providing low-melt glass to get things going. Littleton further wanted to introduce the teaching of glass into the curricula of university art departments, which, of course, he and his students did.
