Notability[edit]

I created this page because in reading about Alexandria I came across references to the school (e.g., in reminiscences by people who had gone to school there or had friends there) and thought it should have an article to save people from having to do the research I had to do to figure out what it was. I entirely agree that the ridiculously overwritten promotional nonsense that's been deleted is spam and should be kept out, but deleting the article would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are articles for other educational institutions in Alexandria; why is this any different? It's not some fly-by-night operation; it has a long and distinguished history and some well-known graduates. Languagehat (talk) 13:24, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a long time since I created the page and I no longer recall what I was reading that led me to create it. I don't have time to research it and try to find links that prove notability, so if someone feels Wikipedia would be better off without the article, go ahead and delete it. I personally think the Notability Crusade has been carried to absurd lengths, but I'm just an occasional contributor, not a Notable Editor. Languagehat (talk) 14:23, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
