New name for his knee strike maneuver[edit]

On Feb. 19th, Corey Graves called the knee strike move "Revolution Knee", which is most likely the new name for the knee strike move WikiPena321 (talk) 22:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. I found a source an added it in.RF23 (talk) 21:54, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Grand Slam Rollins[edit]

Shouldn't "Grand Slam Rollins" be placed on his Nicknames article? He called himself that on the Raw post WM 34, and even said it had a nice ring to it. Even if it was a one-night only, he was called that by the announcers. 2804:14D:BAD4:8AE8:A099:5FF1:C2C3:B3D1 (talk) 03:36, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Signatures and Finishers[edit]

On various Wikipedia articles for wrestlers, the signatures, finishers, and nicknames have been removed. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.15.20.234 (talk) 21:31, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image from this article to appear as POTD soon[edit]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Seth Rollins holds Money in the Bank briefcase at a WWE house show in January 2015.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on 22 December 2018. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2018-12-22. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 13:16, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is the ring name of Colby Daniel Lopez (born 1986), an American professional wrestler. He has been signed to WWE since 2010, having previously wrestled for Ring of Honor under the ring name Tyler Black. He debuted on WWE's main roster at the 2012 Survivor Series as part of a faction called The Shield, winning his first main roster championship while with the group, the WWE Tag Team Championship with Roman Reigns.

Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I will use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Immediate Failures[edit]

  • It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria - No. Apart from the below. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It contains copyright infringements - Possible copyvio checking - On check, these seem like copying from wikipedia. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}). - Quite a few [citation needed] and [better source needed] tags need replacing before I will continue the review. • The Shield then feuded with Triple H, the COO of WWE and leader of The Authority, - this was already noted above. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Shield defeated Evolution at Extreme Rules and again at Payback in a No Holds Barred elimination match, in which all members of The Shield survived - "Survived" makes them seem like everyone else died. Reword to "were not eliminated", or similar. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(2014–2015)
  • On the June 2 episode of Raw, after Batista left Evolution and WWE,[108] Triple H revealed his "plan B", which turned out to be Rollins attacking Ambrose and Reigns to rejoin The Authority and turn heel again. - This isn't the best sentence. If he left WWE, he must have left the stable. The "plan B" is irrelevant. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rollins later explained his actions by stating that The Shield would not be a success without him and Ambrose and Reigns were not his brothers, like they claimed, but business partners to help him move up in WWE. Is this a quote or not? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • In September, Rollins began feuding with Roman Reigns and a match between the two was set up for Night of Champions, but Reigns developed a legitimate incarcerated hernia which required surgery prior to the event,[117] resulting in Rollins being declared the winner via forfeit, before being attacked by a returning Ambrose. - At no point is it mentioned that Ambrose left TV, so returning is pointless. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Orton onto the steel ring steps, putting him out of action - Curb stomp is used quite a bit. This is very in-universe, as is "putting him out of action". Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • in which Rollins was the sole survivor and the last man eliminated by Dolph Ziggler, resulting in The Authority being ousted from control of WWE. - how was Rollins the sole survivor? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • thus turning it into a triple threat match - this isn't exactly a therefor statement. I doubt non-wrestling fans would know this is how this would work. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • This made Rollins the first man to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania and during a title match - This should have the word "both" in there somewhere, these are two different statements. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kane as the gatekeeper - what? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rollins then re-ignited his feud with John Cena[139] - not sure what the statement this citation is trying to corroborate. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • On October 25 at Hell in a Cell, Rollins successfully defended the championship against "Demon" Kane and per the match stipulation, Kane was fired as Director of Operations.[143] - Nowhere does this explain what demon Kane is. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Too much "thus" Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

  • Automated note - If you fancy returning the favour, I have outstanding GA nominations that require reviewing at WP:GAN. I'd be very grateful if you were to complete one of these, however it's definately not manditory. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:17, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi Ducktech89 there is quite a bit above. I've nearly completed, but there is things that really need addressing. Could you take a look and make the changes? If not, I'll have to fail this one, there's quite a few issues, specifically WP:INUNIVERSE, bad wording and attribution of quotes. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:42, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • after 10 days without a response, I'll have to fail this one. It's not in the right state yet, and needs lots more work to pass.

Criticism section[edit]

Genuine question: Is the criticism section really that notable? There are other situations of people receiving legitimate heat that aren't even noted on said heat's subject's articles (e.g. John Cena and The Rock's public comments toward each other prior to their feud, Candice Michelle and Melina, etc.). Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter subsequently expressed annoyance that Lopez keeps "putting his foot in his mouth". Are we going to annotate every time wrestling reporters are annoyed at something? KyleJoantalk 12:42, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RfC about the criticism section[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Is the recently-added criticism section significant enough to put in the article? KyleJoantalk 16:38, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support inclusion but rename section per WP:CSECTION. His status as a flawed WWE spokesperson or "vocal leader" is probably notable but "Criticism" is an imprecise header and is almost always discouraged.LM2000 (talk) 17:14, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • I agree with Str1977 below that if this is kept then it should be shortened.LM2000 (talk) 02:22, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • What kind of criticism? About his complains with Will Ospreay and so? If that's all, I don't see notable. Every wrestler today has online backlash. There is something more? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 12:17, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The section only contains the Ospreay situation and nothing more. KyleJoantalk 03:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was in support of removing this in the past. It is kinda WP:NOTNEWS. So he put his foot in his mouth defending his employer, not very significant. I also do not like the section title "criticism" at all. StaticVapor message me! 18:51, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support inclusion but shorten the details, rename and move to more appropriate place (not "personal life"). Str1977 (talk) 22:15, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please refrain from moving and retitling section until RfC is complete. KyleJoantalk 03:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please refrain from such blanket reverts. My edits had hardly anything to do with the section in question and nothing with actual issue: retain or delete the section. Str1977 (talk) 13:22, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit voids the specific section link named in the RfC (i.e., Seth Rollins#Criticism), which confuses editors as to which section is being discussed. Also, use American spelling. KyleJoantalk 16:07, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Str1977: You stated that you'd like to move the section being discussed, which you proceeded to do without consensus. Doing so before this RfC is complete is premature due to the possibility of other editors opining otherwise. KyleJoantalk 16:26, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
My edits came before I even was aware that there is an RfC. I included some of my edits in my comments here but main issue is keep or delete the section. If we delete it, as you prefer, it doesn't matter anyway. I have now restored the original name of the section but your blanket reverts are unacceptable. Str1977 (talk) 16:31, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
While we're mainly discussing the section's content, its placement is also significant because the RfC began with it existing as its own section, therefore, moving and changing it into a subsection confuses the discussion. It also does not matter what I prefer; we're trying to achieve consensus. KyleJoantalk 16:40, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose inclusion per WP:NOTNEWS. KyleJoantalk 03:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support inclusion of content but not in a "criticism" section - I think the essay WP:NOCRIT offers good guidance about weaving otherwise acceptable content into the body of the article rather than bookending it into a standalone "criticism" section. Chetsford (talk) 16:07, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support inclusion of content but not in a "criticism" section I think it's noteworthy enough but doesn't need it's own section. Agree that WP:NOCRIT is relevant. Comatmebro (talk) 00:40, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support inclusion of content but not in a "criticism" section It can be integrated in the Professional wrestling style, persona and reception section. These spats by wrestlers (and even boxers prior to a match) are sometimes done for the sake of promotion. Darwin Naz (talk) 22:42, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Engagement[edit]

KJ, which day do you think "Happiest day of my life. For the rest of my life." [2] refers to? And even if it were not that date, the "announcement" is completely irrelevant. We should report events and facts, not announcements. Str1977 (talk) 16:35, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We should report events and facts, not announcements. Not when we don't know when said events and facts take place.
KJ, which day do you think "Happiest day of my life. For the rest of my life." . . . refers to? I don't know because she never stated which day; she only made the announcement stating the event made whatever day the engagement was the happiest day of her life. KyleJoantalk 16:44, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If we do not know the exact date, then we make the date more vague. WP is cluttered up left, right and center by these constant announcements. Sometimes entire articles consist of nothing but announcements.
As for the day: it is highly unlikely that Becky got engaged and then waited an unknown number of days before tweeting about it. Str1977 (talk) 09:37, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How do you propose we make the date vaguer? As for the day: it is highly unlikely that Becky got engaged and then waited an unknown number of days before tweeting about it. Isn't this speculative? Isn't the most accurate statement the one where we annotate the announcement since the exact engagement date isn't known? KyleJoantalk 10:26, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's not speculation but rather using common sense.
How can we make it vaguer (which I don't think we have to, if we use common sense)? We could just note the month but since you refuse common sense, you could probably respond by speculating that we don't know they got (sic!) engaged in August. Maybe, they have been egaged for ten years and only now "announced" it. Who knows - it's all unclear, according to you!
{{tq|Your "most accurate statement" is also the most irrelevant. Announcements by themselves do not warrant inclusion.
Str1977 (talk) 07:09, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, they have been egaged for ten years and only now "announced" it. Who knows - it's all unclear, according to you! All of this is correct. I'm glad you understand. Can you direct me to the guideline where it says any announcement whatsoever does not warrant inclusion in WP:BLP? I'm having trouble finding it. Putting an unsourced engagement date would mean that that piece of information does not adhere to WP:OR or WP:V; I don't know about you, but I'd like to adhere to both WP:OR and WP:V. NXT title a "TOP" 3 Championships?[edit]

Strange note in the opening about how he's held WWE's "Top" 3 championships. NXT is pretty much unofficially a developmental brand and by no means is their championship considered a "Top" prize in the company in my opinion. I request that the word actor is added in his ‘about’ section right next to American professional wrestler. 41.246.128.72 (talk) 11:34, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Father[edit]

Hey Seth. I'm writing to check on your father. He is a wonderful man & haven't seen him since he moved. I'm just an Asst. Mgr. at Casey's in Buffalo, IA. I loved having him visit & miss him & his humour. He always hated it when I addressed him as sir! Take care. My two children & I love watching you in the ring. 50.82.70.219 (talk) 23:31, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bumpy Award (1 time) change "Best Dressed of the Half-Year (2021) - with Sonya Deville" to "Best Dressed of the Half-Year (2021) – with Sonya Deville", i mean change "-" to "–" so it can be looked formally. 27.2.143.6 (talk) 08:30, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Zahra Schreiber section gone?[edit]

Any reason why every mention of the Zahra Schreiber scandal is gone? Pretty sure it's frowned upon here to remove controversies for no reason other than to make the subject look better. It wasn't a nice thing that he did, but it was notable and a subject's article shouldn't prioritize being squeaky clean over being factual. Winditaround (talk) 08:54, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted without explanation by a blocked account, here. I've restored it.
That said, there does need to be significant justification to include controversies normally (and oftentimes they're discouraged) so there could be a good justification that it's WP:UNDUE. — Czello (music) 09:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Other media[edit]

This section details the YouTube gaming show and with itself being the source. I think it should be taken down. The show is mentioned also in the web series list. BinaryBrainBug (talk) 10:31, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
