The Bankers[edit]

Might it not be possible to include a reference to Shane Ross's book, The Bankers, on the Article Page (Penguin Ireland, 2009). The work, subtitled How The Banks Brought Ireland to its Knees, is undoubtedly controversial; but it allows the common Irishman or Irishwoman many valuable insights into how their money, as well as their equity, is used by banks, by property developers and by the Irish Government. It also raises questions as to how Bank Regulators, External Auditors and Non-Executive Directors safeguard the savings and the assets of those same Irish bank customers. On a wider scale, it gives at least a substantial part of the background to the "killer" budgets introduced in Ireland in 2009.PeadarMaguidhir (talk) 17:14, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ruth Buchanan[edit]

Just wondering if she is retired and therefore a past tense would be needed to added where she is described as is an RTE employee 86.45.62.58 (talk) 14:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she is retired [1], article updated.

Ross and INM[edit]

I have removed some large chunks of text in this article, evidently added by a single editor two years ago (and one who has made few other contributions, which makes it look like a Single Purpose Account). They refer to Ross's attitude to Independent News and Media, and imply that Ross has avoided criticism of this company (which employs him as a journalist) while being highly critical of other companies (and being critical of those who criticise the company). This looks like the work of someone with an axe to grind. It's possible that there is some substance in these charges, but all of the citations were from Ross's own articles - there is no independent source making these allegations. This is original research. If there is anything to them, it should be possible to find a reliable source. I would normally ask for a citation for these, but the commentary is far too detailed for this - it needs to be extensively written, properly sourced, and from a neutral perspective if it is to go back in. --Rbreen (talk) 22:35, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
