Currently the ROC comprises two provinces (Taiwan and Fujian) and

five special municipalities (Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung).

The english translation of 直轄市 is special municipalities.

Oppose Taiwan only applies to post-Chinese Civil War, this article says the ROC started using it in 1927, long before ROC became just Taiwan, so the new title would be wrong, since this article covers more than just the post-evacuation period -- 65.92.181.190 (talk) 06:36, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. This title should be formatted to correspond to our main article, which is at Taiwan, and not ROC. There is a brief nod in the text to 1920s China, but otherwise the the focus is modern Taiwan. The article is dominated by charts and pictures which consider Taiwanese geography exclusively. disconnected story[edit]

@Kauffner, Fizikanauk, Chongkian, DrKay, EP111, and Energiya: This article and the article on Taiwan as "Republic of China" or an independent "country" both present a very one sided view of the story. Irtapil (talk) 12:53, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Political status of Taiwan is linked in the lede of the Taiwan article, which is the more vital article. There is a dedicated paragraph, where it should be. Due to the nature of this article, I assume that the status of Taiwan has already undergone numerous discussions at Talk:Taiwan, and reached consensus on how to address the problem; it's best to look in the archives there.
