References[edit]

I'm trying to sort out the references for this article. The main point was to separate the sources from the citations. Many of the external links are dead, and I'd appreciate it if anyone in the know can relocate these missing sources. I have found and used the local history website, which has changed hosts. I've also found more precise references in the Victoria County History articles. I'll be going deeper into the references, section by section, over the next week or two. Toft[edit]

I've added a wiktionary template for the word toft in response to a request for help in disambiguating. Not sure what the problem was: the disambiguation page actually starts with an admirable definition. As the word appears in the text here with an indefinite article, it is obviously not a proper name. So I've not removed the wikilink because I think most readers puzzled by the word will easily find what they want that way. For anyone who doesn't, wiktionary gives a formal definition and etymology.
