Name[edit]

On 16 April 2018 Necrothesp moved the article from Charles Sydney Goldman to Sydney Goldman, citing WP:COMMONNAME. I question this. Hansard calls him Mr Charles Goldman, his books use Charles Sydney Goldman on the title pages (see examples here). DuncanHill (talk) 01:00, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've been through Richard Goldmann's A South African Remembers, the autobiography of his brother. There Sydney is used consistently, so I don't object to it. Searching for him you need many variants, such as "CS Goldman".
The surname can be Goldman or Goldmann. The name Monck appears in Richard Goldmann's book, for an uncle, and from what was said about the 1939 name change of the sons that may have been Sydney's father's brother. Charles Matthews (talk) 20:40, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
