An interview about Tekken 7.Tintor2 (talk) 19:17, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Beta/no longer in production[edit]

  • IP editors keep making edits in regard to this. Is there any reason for this, or is it just some random meme or vandalism or something? Sergecross73 msg me 01:39, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • No idea, simply Googling for news brings up the fact that it may come to Xbox One and PC later this year, along with e3 rumors. I see nothing of the sort it was canceled, delayed, or anything similar. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 03:11, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yeah, I hadn't come across anything that could even be misconstrued as this either, so I assume its vandalism? I'll protect the page if this keeps up. Sergecross73 msg me 15:22, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • Another IP has come in and added this again without any explanation, the IPs aren't responding to talk page questions or this discussion, and there seems to be no discernible basis for the edits other than it being vandalism/hoaxes, so I've protected the page. I'll gladly unprotect it if any of these factors change though. Sergecross73 msg me 18:57, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
          • A different IP has been re-adding about daily again. No one will discuss here, and I'm still baffled as to what it means, so I've protected the page again. I assume its either vandalism, or a competence issue... Sergecross73 msg me 12:16, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
            • Don't know what it's about. It was announced to be coming to the three big platforms in 2017, and it's already out for Japanese arcades, so the tense isn't wrong. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:06, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably User:Truthtrue in action again. See above discussions.--Krystaleen 07:18, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you, Krystaleen, I hadn't noticed that section above. It was prior to when I started keeping an eye on the article due to an unrelated issue. Anyways, not only does it seem like there was not any consensus to define the game as a beta in the opening sentence back then, there doesn't seem to be now either. I don't see any support for this except for him, and a ton of random IPs, which I suspect to also be him, considering how soon he jumped in after the page was protected again.
  • Beyond there being no consensus to add it, Dissident93 and I were even having a hard time figuring out why one would write this. Sources don't define it like this. Calling it a "beta" seems to be Truthtrue's original research. Whether its a work in progress game or not, it does not seem that reliable sources typically refer to the game as a "beta game", and if they don't, neither should we. Our wording need to mirror what the sources actually say. Sergecross73 msg me 12:44, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Didn't notice that either, but I still don't see what makes it a beta, then or now. Even if we are ignoring the fact that it has already been released in Japanese arcades, the console version have not been released yet, and no open/closed beta exists for them. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:41, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • Indeed, from what I can gather, TruthTrue's argument seems to amount to "well, they're continually adding more to the game, and beta games are unfinished games; therefore, it's a beta." Which, of course, would be a violation of WP:SYNTH. Sergecross73 msg me 01:05, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • I know right? It happened over and over and over again I just got tired of dealing with him. Honestly, I went from thinking he did the edits in good faith to thinking either he's a troll or he's mentally challenged. He'd agree to something and then change his mind out of nowhere a few weeks later. It was really odd. The "discussion" in this talk page isn't the whole thing. There was a lot of arguing back on forth on edit summaries, talk pages, etc that spanned several months.--Krystaleen 09:45, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm starting to think Lovetekken may be Truthtrue, as he started editing the article while TruthTrue was blocked from editing, and they both have the same obsession of awkwardly stating that "there is no final version of the game". Of course there isn't - the game has a 2017 release date. It goes without saying that a game with a future release date doesn't have a final version yet. There's no reason to point that out in broken English. These additions continue to baffle me. Sergecross73 msg me 15:38, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Eliza is the only Tekken character to play similarly as SF guests like Akuma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJVa0B5dwAE&ebc=ANyPxKrczMuIBwE2ogxR9uQKjEKJRGbRDMNeZQyAgiDUHYhzPy00wHJ2TO-4OmqbAm11VUdLrqT-gCIZSr7aTcVtJIQgSSTYew 140.0.228.69 (talk) 03:10, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done YouTube is not a reliable source, and the statement is confusing, vague, and lacking in context anyways. Sergecross73 msg me 03:21, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

& why is the video is uploaded by Bamco? You didn't look at the user carefully do you? It's legit. 140.0.228.69 (talk) 10:18, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First off, as I stated, the sentence is vague poorly worded, and its hard to understand what is trying to be conveyed. So even with a source, it couldn't be added as is. Secondly, unless the video literally contains the text or voice over stating "Eliza plays similar to Akuma" or whatever it is you're trying to convey, its not going to be considered a usable source. You can't watch a video, make personal observations and your own conclusions about what you saw, (Oh wow, Eliza fights just like Akuma) and then use the video as a source. That's called original research as is not allowed on Wikipedia. Sergecross73 msg me 15:30, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You don't look at the scene carefully. You missed to looking at that Super Combo, jump attack & that yellow effect focus cancel dash. Ask Harada & other Tekken Dev Team. This is truly LEGIT! Flying_Wonkey found the screencap while he was still in the event where Tekken announcements held & it's actually legit. 140.0.228.69 (talk) 23:10, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That is exactly the point though - I shouldn't have to "look at the scene carefully". It shouldn't be up to my "observations and conclusions on watching a trailer. It should directly and literally be stated. You need a source more like an IGN article where the journalist literally says in the article "Eliza's moves seemed very similar to Akuma, a Street Fighter guest character." And that's if this all needs to be said at all. We don't usually include compare/contrast trivial about various characters anyways. Sergecross73 msg me 19:11, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The introduction[edit]

I have a bit of an issue with the second sentence of the third paragraph of the introduction to this article. As of this writing, the sentence reads...

"However, some expressed issues to the story mode due to a lack of focus of the supporting characters."

Not only is it a poorly-constructed sentence (I'm unsure EXACTLY what it means, so I hesitate to edit it), but it also seems to be an un-cited claim.

Citation and a cleanup of the sentence needed.Robbmonster (talk) 10:56, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • It should reflect the reception section (which is terribly written, by the way), and if it's not exaggerated or outright false, then it doesn't require a citation per WP:CITELEAD. I guess it should be removed until it is cleaned up, because it's hard to get summarized info from it currently. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 03:17, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
