Mormonism is not under Christianity catergory[edit]

"Mormonism" has never been listed under "Christianity" category, so please don't list this article under "Christianity in Hong Kong". STSC (talk) 06:06, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it has - a consensus decision, succinctly summed up here that was reached after multiple long discussions. For example, Mormonism is listed under Christianity#Major groupings within Christianity, List of Christian denominations, List of Christian denominations by number of members, {{Christianity}}, Category:Christian denominational families, WP:CHRISTIAN, as a subset of Christianity in the demographics of states and nations,...and the list goes on. --FyzixFighter (talk) 13:03, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Mormonism is not accepted as Christianity in Hong Kong. STSC (talk) 13:28, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is no separate understanding of the LDS/Christianity relationship that is exclusive to Hong Kong. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 17:41, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's quite ridiculous to say there is one unified opinion "in Hong Kong" about what is and what is not true Christianity. This issue has been dealt with to death in Wikipedia, and there has been strong consensus that do categorize the LDS Church and Mormonism as Christian religions, because they self-identify as such. It's one branch of Christianity; not all Christians agree that Mormons are Christians, but Mormons say they are, so we treat them as part of the larger family of Christians. Merge proposal[edit]

There seems no need to have two separate articles at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong and Mormonism in Hong Kong, but I don't know which should be the title. PamD 20:01, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer the "Mormonism in Hong Kong" as the title. STSC (talk) 12:42, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Mormonism is a much broader subject than just the LDS Church, however the LDS Church is the sole denomination mentioned in either article. It also seems unlikely that any of other denomination classified as part of Mormonism has any real presence in Hong Kong, although other denomination within the Latter Day Saint movement may have a presence there. Because of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong is the better title, especially per wp:MOSLDS and wp:NCLDS. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 17:17, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@STSC -- you also didn't disclose that you are the actual creator of Mormonism in Hong Kong, which article appears to have been created to move that content out of Christianity in Hong Kong, so that Mormonism is not longer mentioned on that article. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 17:53, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
