The number plate[edit]

Has anyone ever 'fessed up to being the owner of 346 GNU? Koro Neil (talk) 02:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No - but a wonderful song. Everything about it is perfect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.107.114 (talk) 22:06, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"G-nu"[edit]

I have somewhere seen or heard it stated that this song is responsible for changing the common British pronunciation of the word from "nyoo" (homophonous with "new") to "g-noo". Can anyone confirm and source this? Koro Neil (talk) 17:14, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be correct. I have now added this to the article, with 2 references. GrindtXX (talk) 15:23, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of car registration mark[edit]

@Djdaedalus:, regarding this diff:

The letters "NU" indicate the car was in fact registered in the North of England, hundreds of miles from Flanders' house. See Vehicle registration plates of the UK

In fact, NU was assigned to Derbyshire at that time. It's also not particularly notable as people move house and cars get sold. I've removed that note from the article. -Stelio (talk) 09:01, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
