Partly done: I added the link to toysrus.com.sa. The ownership change from Qatar Petroleium to Tasweeq needs to be accompanied by a citation to a reliable source. Please provide such a source, and feel free to reopen this request (change "no" to "yes" in the template above). ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 20:50, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

The number of US stores was higher than 800

I'm proposing two changes to the number of stores mentioned in this article.

According to Toy R Us' Form 10-K filed with the SEC in 2001, as of Feb 3, 2001, they had a total of 1,090 stores in the United States. This includes Kids R Us, Babies R Us as well as Imaginarium. This form is available through the SEC archives. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1005414/000089109201500098/0000891092-01-500098.txt

In the 10-K form, search for the phrase "Stores Across the U.S. at Feb. 3, 2001" to find and verify the numbers, they appear on page 40-41. I've searched through all Toys R Us' other 10-K forms and their 2001 10-K had the highest reported store count.

Additionally, the current number of locations is incorrectly listed at 10 stores by 2020. There are currently only two stores in operation, one in Houston, TX, the other in Paramus, NJ. Source: https://www.toysrus.com/stores.html

Change "while stores in Saudi Arabia are owned by Qatar Petroleum" to "while stores in Saudi Arabia are owned by Tasweeq Company". https://www.toysrus.com.sa/en-us/about-us Khalid.at (talk) 11:30, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

According to this article Portugal and Spain operations were bought by Green Swan in 2018 and no longer owned by Toys R Us HQ. https://www.distribuicaohoje.com/consumo/paulo-sousa-marques-ceo-da-toysrus-espanha-e-portugal-e-proibido-nao-tocar/

Green Swan have a document confirming this https://greenswan.pt/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2019/03/greenswan-toysrus-acquisition.pdf

Spanish Wikipedia also confirms this fact in their Info box https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toys_%22R%22_Us

Separate article for Babies "R" Us

Even though it was owned by Toys "R" Us, Babies "R" Us was separate company which had separate stores. There are also various redirects for Babies "R" Us, and it is often considered separate from Toys "R" Us. Blubabluba9990 (talk) (contribs) 17:06, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

I agree, there should be a separate article for Kids "R" Us as well 65.24.225.32 (talk) 00:54, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
