Ownership[edit]

According to the article — ″The Castle has remained the property of the Earls and Dukes of Cornwall without interruption since 1270, when Earl Richard bought it for £300.″

A sentence in the Cornishman newspaper, dated 8 December, 1887 (page 3) would seem to suggest otherwise — ″Trematon Castle, near Saltash, was on Thursday sold by auction to Mrs Porter-Burrel for £725.″ Jowaninpensans (talk) 20:27, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
