Route Diagram Template[edit]

The map has an error. It shows Lock 35 as being between Balsam Lake and Kirkfield, but it's actually between Cameron Lake and Balsam Lake. Balsam Lake and Mitchell Lake are the highest on the system, and there is no lock between them. I have travelled that route many times. The elevations (which I assume are in feet above Lake Ontario, although this is not marked anywhere) seem all wonky. For one thing, they show the trip from Georgian Bay to Kirkfield to be downstream, when it should be upstream. Other anomalies are that the 60-ish foot lift of the Peterborough Lift Locks seems to be listed at the Scotts Mills lock and a 47-foot fall shown to be at the Couchiching lock should probably be the Big Chute Marine Railway. 198.91.146.14 (talk) 04:50, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lead - commercial and pleasure boats[edit]

I have changed the sentence in the lead from "formerly used for commercial purposes but now exclusively for pleasure boats" to "formerly used for industrial and transportation purposes and now for recreational and tourism purposes". The system is used for commmercial purposes today, just not the industrial or transportation ones common in earlier times. There is a cruise line that operates the boat the Kawartha Voyageur, houseboat rental firms such as Egan Houseboats, as well as many resorts and marinas. I think the previous text was meant to indicate something along these lines; I think the new text says it better. --papageno (talk) 18:27, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
