I have just added archive links to one external link on Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest. Please take a moment to review my edit. MARUV[edit]

I disagree with this. Multiple reliable sources cited Maruv as the Ukrainian representative before their withdrawal, and during the broadcast of Vidbir Jamala even said 'welcome to Tel Aviv'. To me it is very clear that Maruv was selected as the Ukrainian representative for 2019. Only when she refused the contract were the other Vidbir participants looked at as potential replacements. I'm not sure what you are talking about. The Vidbir broadcast was a while ago, but from what I remember the "welcome to Tel Aviv" part was part of a hypothetical question about her loyalty to Ukraine; Jamala wasn't actually welcoming Maruv. Also, Jamala is not the one who gets to decide that; that's the broadcaster. On top of that, it was made clear during the broadcast that winning Vidbir does not guarantee participation in Eurovision. I wonder what those sources are that you are referring to, because I can't find them. I did find this article stating that "UA:PBC need to officially confirm the act. In a statement to Eurovision.tv, they have now stated that that has not been done yet." ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 20:38, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
From Wiwibloggs: "MARUV won tonight’s show with “Siren Song” amid explosive drama and red-hot words. She’ll represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv." From Eurovoix: "MARUV has won Vidbir 2019 and will represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.". Not entirely sure why you're cherrypicking sources. If it was absolutely certain, then fine, but a show entitled (albeit in Ukrainian) 'National Selection for Eurovision' seems like it would select for Eurovision. I feel it is a disservice not to include Maruv in the table, but if it's that controversial then leave it. Granfcanuon (talk) 15:14, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't cherrypicking, I just took as examples the first few search results. I wasn't able to find your articles before, but thanks to your quotes I've found them now. However that very Eurovoix article says in the next paragraph that "MARUV is technicially not the nations entrant for Eurovision yet." The Wiwibloggs article also mentions this farther down, and articles of a few days later are much more clear in that Maruv was not actually selected.
