Being used as a record label

I don't think this company's name should appear in its labels' albums' infobox as a label, because the article says nothing about it being a record label, just a company. I think we should find and go through each music article that does this regardless, and remove UMG's name from the infobox. What do you guys think? Tjdrum2000 (talk) 18:26, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

What's the difference between a label and a company?Kellymoat (talk) 01:02, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

YouTube Controversy

Are UMG's constant takedowns of YouTube videos and striking of its users appropriate to have a mention of it one here? It's a large issue in the YouTube community. Adervae (talk) 23:45, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

I think it is, but apparently there seemed to be a huge edit war of this issue going on in the past. Now the section is gone. W7n (talk) 08:06, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Move

Universal MusicUniversal Music Group

S/W Music Company

The lead here contains the sentence: "It is considered one of the "Big Two" record labels, along with S/W Music Company formerly Sony Music and Warner Music Group that formed in 2019."

I personally know if Sony and Warner have any plans to merge, so I'll let someone with more direct knowledge change that if needed, but it does seem odd that a sentence discussing the future is written in past tense. Right?59.124.5.22 (talk)

UMG's YouTube problems should be addressed aswell

With there many unpopular copyright strikes it should be noted that there highly negative prospective on the internet is greatly outwaying the positive views of the company, due to there many illegal attempts of strong arming youtubers because of fair-use laws. UMVD Record Label redirected here

Wikipedia article for UMVD redirects here but then this article makes no mention of it. Is UMVD the same as this? UMVD doesn't exist on the List of record labels: R–Z on Wikipedia either. Should it? See source here:[1]--The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 19:04, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
