Date of birth -- how affected by use of Julian calendar?[edit]

I have read from other sources that it took the 1917 revolution to get Russia to go onto the Gregorian calendar, which by then was 13 days ahead of the Julian calendar. Until then, Russia was using the Julian calendar. Yes, I notice that Abakovsky (the subject of this Wikipedia article) was born in Latvia, not Russia. (The Gregorian-calendar article says that Latvia went Gregorian in 1915, so an 1895 birth date in Latvia would be on Julian calendar, right?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.82 (talk) 16:02, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Death section redundancy[edit]

The entire death section of this article also seems to have, at some point, been added word for word to the Aerowagon article (or, indeed, vice versa), which in turn has been updated and improved with sources and so on far outpacing this page. For the sake of keeping the redundancy low I move to drastically rewrite the death section to remove parts, such as the other casualties of the Aerowagon crash, that are much more relevant to that page and to instead replace it with a much more brief and Abakovsky-focussed section.
