Is this about visa requirements for Mongolian citizens or about visa requirements for entry in Mongolia? Alinor (talk) 06:59, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

China[edit]

We requested Dispute Resolution Twofortnights:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Visa_requirements_for_Mongolian_citizens
Please kindly take part and allow for others (us - Mongolians) to have "your" page corrected. Mongolians often look up to this Wikipedia page (which they shouldn't) to check for visa requirements and it causes trouble if the information is incorrect.
And as you see from multiple comments here, you are alone in claiming Mongolians need a visa to China.

I am happy to submit my passport photos showing no China visa and a dozen China entry/exit stamps in the last few years. It is also possible to reach out to the Chinese embassy in Ulaanbaatar and Mongolian embassy in Beijing to ask them directly.
But I think you will not allow for changes unless the wider community or admins request that you change the entry, so we will start the process now.

Mongolians travel to China visa-free since 1989, yes there might have been other passports then than E series, but not anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deos71 (talkcontribs) 05:26, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Series "E" passports is the standard passport for Mongolians. China is visa-free for Normal passports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.9.56.131 (talk) 19:24, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is correct.I met today number of Mongolian people with stamp ,visa free from China — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.26.193.16 (talk) 12:04, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is small vandalism on this page, a guy called Twofortnights who keeps editing the page with the wrong info. I have edited the page and the map to reflect that but that guy just keeps reverting back to wrong. All ordinary Mongolian passports are E-series. The page has the wrong information. I am Mongolian and have been to China many times, as many others, without a visa. We all clearly travel to China visa-free, maybe there is not enough information on this in English but this is a fact. Please help revert the page, he usually reverts to wrong information around 6am Mongolian time (22:00 GMT) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.90.10.55 (talk) 00:55, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese visa exemption applies to - "diplomatic, official or official E passport holders only". Source - [1]. Since this was already pointed out and since you are making disruptive edits against WP:V and WP:NOR by citing own experience for editing an encyclopedia and removing valid official verifiable sources - your edits have been flagged as vandalism and have been removed.--Twofortnights (talk) 15:58, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Twofortnights: The source you quoted [2] lists China under - "Countries that granted visa-free entry for Mongolian nationals" section. "Visa free" means "no visa required". Otherwise, China would be listed under "Countries that granted visa-free entry for Mongolian nationals holding diplomatic or official passports" section or not appear at all on the list.
Yes, it adds a comment: "for diplomatic, official or official E passport holders only" which doesn't mean "visa required" but "visa not required" as those are the ONLY 3 passport types issued by Mongolia today. E(Engiin - Normal), A (Alban - Official), and D (Diplomatic). This is from the Mongolian embassy in Beijing page: [1]. " Е серийн буюу үндэсний энгийн гадаад паспорт шинээр олгож болно." - It explicitly states that E series passports are ordinary/normal passports.
The statement you use to justify your edits means that a visa is required for people with some very old passport that is not an ordinary E type or for people with other types of travel documents (not a passport).
Many people use this page to check on information for their/their partner travel needs that's why I want to ensure the information on this Wikipedia page is correct, and my edits are in good faith. How is that vandalism? On the other hand, I feel you keep changing this page for personal gratification, as you go against the source and everyone else who wrote here if you have another motivation please let us know what is it.
– I also noted Taiwan is missing from the list, so I added Taiwan under China with HK and Macau. Or should Taiwan be listed as a separate country?

As already stated, the source is clear and it says Chinese visa exemption applies to - "diplomatic, official or official E passport holders only". Source - [3]. There is really nothing much to debate, I feel like you are trying to troll by pretending you don't realize this. Please stop, we don't have time for this.--Twofortnights (talk) 10:48, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The source says China is visa-free. I would like to ask for a third opinion on this as we will not get anywhere. I feel you don't understand the source, and clearly don't know (or care about) the real-world situation regarding China, and didn't read my above post with understanding. Please let's consult others to decide. I hope you agree.
Another source listing China as visa-free, clearly: https://www.passportindex.org/comparebyPassport.php?p1=mn&fl=&s=yes[2]

I would update the table myself but I can't format the table properly.Thepatriots (talk) 15:59, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

China[edit]

According to Timatic and IATA, China's policy is: "Visa required, except for Nationals of Mongolia with a normal series "E" passport." https://www.timaticweb.com/cgi-bin/tim_website_client.cgi?SpecData=1&VISA=&page=visa&NA=MN&AR=00&PASSTYPES=PASS&DE=CN&user=KLMB2C&subuser=KLMB2C

Now, an "E" passport is the type of passport issued to normal citizens. Does this mean that Mongolian citizens don't need visas for China? (In reality, I have never needed a visa for China, but anecdotal evidence is not a source) --chinneeb-talk 00:50, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

But the important question is if there are any normal Mongolian passports whose numbers do not start with "E". Never seen a source for that. Yaan (talk) 23:12, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If it needs to be noted that only E passports are visa-free then it's obvious there are other passports.--Twofortnights (talk) 09:49, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There are 3 passports: E(Engiin - Normal), A (Alban - Official), and D (Diplomatic). This this from the Mongolian embassy in Beijing page: http://beijing.mfa.gov.mn/?page_id=32991. " Е серийн буюу үндэсний энгийн гадаад паспорт шинээр олгож болно." - It explicitly states that E series passports are ordinary/normal passports. --chinneeb-talk 06:27, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
