Opticians in Wigmore Street[edit]

Wigmore Street was, certainly into the 1970s, a street where many opticians practised and firms of opticians had their workshops and flagship dispensaries (for example, Clement Clarke). Sadly, I don't know any references to support this – it's just a memory – but if anyone can find anything about it, it could be mentioned in the article. --Added a sentence about opticians, etc., to the article, with a reference, but really it falls foul of WP:NOR so a better reference is required Frans Fowler (talk) 22:53, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Who was Wigmore?[edit]

As with many historic London streets, it would be interesting to know who was the original Wigmore. (Or was it named after a village?) Valetude (talk) 00:11, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
