Box Art[edit]

I was just wondering if anyone feels the actual game-case box art is more notable than the box that also contains the MotionPlus? I noticed the difference when I found the game on the Nintendo Channel. I don't see the need to change it myself but I thought the discussion should happen either way. The European cover art is significantly different, and much nicer-looking, in my opinion. You also get a better sense of the island as a unifying setting. Dancter (talk) 22:49, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wuhu island[edit]

I feel Wuhu island deserves its own article, as it has appeared in two games, and we know many things on the island. Also, nintendo have said they will almost defiantly use Wuhu island as a location again. What does everybody think? Lu-igi board (talk) 18:13, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what can be said that can't be adequately explained in the Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort articles? - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 03:28, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

significant locations from the instruction booklet, ect that wouldn't be appropriate in the wiifit article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lu-igi board (talkcontribs) 16:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines#What is appropriate?. Dancter (talk) 16:54, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Wuhu Island is still a topic with limited information available: all we know about it is that it is the setting for two games and what can be found on the island, but that isn't enough to make an article solely for itself. All I can see for such an article so far is simply a list of locations on the island, which is simply game cruft and thus inappropriate for Wikipedia. While Miyamoto has proposed new ideas for Wuhu Island and is currently expecting it to become its own franchise, we cannot add such information because of WP:CRYSTAL. In conclusion I think we should wait until Wuhu Island has become a developed entity in Nintendo games before an article can be made for it. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 01:41, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thats true, but the 40 odd points of intrest would make for a good read! Lu-igi board (talk) 19:28, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree there should be an article for Wuhu Island. User:Tennispro45 23:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wuhu Island is apparently going to be in Pilotwings Resort and Mario Kart 3DS. That'll make five games, on two separate platforms. 70.18.99.149 (talk) 23:26, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it should be made definately. maybe wait until pilot wings / mariokart come out. also, it will likely be in Wii party too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.21.9.232 (talk) 19:09, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve redirected it now. 86.143.60.73 (talk) 20:25, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More information on Reception?[edit]

This is a major title for the Wii. Surely there can be more information on what these reviewers thought of the game. More information please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.78.138.187 (talk) 03:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the reviews of the game and most of the reviews really just explain the highs and lows of the different sports. If someone wants to edit that, what I said is pretty much it.68.38.48.11 (talk) 13:15, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sub games to sports[edit]

I plan to add the games that can be played under each sport, for example: Swordplay

  • Duel
  • Speed Slice
  • Adventure

Wuhu island[edit]

Wuhu island is said at the beginning of the article as also being featured in Wii Fit. I am pretty sure this is wrong. It would most likely have been in the original Wii Sports. It has been changed and reverted once. Thought I would throw it out here on the discussion page in case I am entirely wrong. WesUGAdawg (talk) 00:28, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wii Sports didn't really have the locations for its games specified, so we can't say Wuhu Island appeared in Wii Sports first. Wii Fit explicitly brought the island to light both via its Running activity and in the game manual. Plus it was sometime after Wii Sports was finished that Miyamoto wanted to have the island concept realized, according to Iwata Asks. Wii Sports Resort utilized the island a lot more. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 01:23, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. WesUGAdawg (talk) 20:33, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd just like to point out that Wuhu island has a (full-size) tennis court which isn't used in a Wii Sports Resort game. This could be a sort of retroactive attempt to make Wii Sports, or at least the tennis court, on the island. But Thomas is right, we can't say for sure. 206.125.73.61 (talk) 23:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

wuhu island needs it's own article. 86.21.15.249 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:27, 19 February 2011 (UTC).[reply]

List of sports section[edit]

The "list of sports section" features excessive information and is probably just superfluous anyways. It should be removed. Acesyksyk09 (talk) 00:09, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Use of screenshots in this article[edit]

The third criteria of WP:NFCCP states that copyrighted images should be used sparingly, and only for the purpose of visualisation, yet there are two images present in this article.

It is possible to illustrate this article with a single image, as is encouraged to do so in video game-based articles. If there are no objections, I will act upon what I've said, but I'd prefer a discussion go down first.

Thanks for hearing me out. Manfred (talk) 09:57, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As five days have passed and there have been no objections, I will act upon the above. ~ Manfred (talk page) 06:39, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it say Wii Sports Resort was released in 2008 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5C8:8100:4F90:B40E:60A9:E082:858D (talk) 16:44, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
