Date of birth[edit]

Encyclopaedia Britannica gives his date of birth as 1839. What is the source of the date of 1838 given here? --Deskford (talk) 10:48, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen sources that list his date as approximately 1838 to 1839. For example, Yosemite: Art of an American Icon, edited by Amy Scott. Jim Heaphy (talk) 03:39, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this article really a stub?[edit]

I am not saying that this article is perfect, but here's the description of a stub:

"Provides very little meaningful content; may be little more than a dictionary definition."

I think that this article exceeds that description. Should it really be considered a stub? Cullen328 (talk) 23:26, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has 28 sentences and 9 references about a 19th century artist. Is that a stub? Cullen328 (talk) 23:33, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a stub. The stub tags on the article were the reason it was rated thusly. I've removed them. At quick glance this is easily C or B. –xenotalk 00:16, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--- Hi, I'm doing a research paper on William Keith and was wondering if I could add some info to this page about William Keith's life. I have a quote that Keith said: "What I want to do is to study nature. The best way to do that is to be near her, and I have vague ideas about living in such close communion with her that she may adopt me and show me things hidden to every eye but that which loves her sincerely." I also wanted to add a few things about Keith's transitions of art styles: 1857- hired wood engraver, 1868 turned to oil painting. Would this be ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwalsh108 (talkcontribs) 01:41, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your additions are fine as long as you cite a reliable source. It is especially important for quotations to be properly cited. Thanks for helping to improve the article. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:03, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm also doing a research paper on William Keith and as part of our assignment we are to add a contribution to this Wikipedia page. My contribution is under my username, jds893. Is everything alright with my contribution? Jds893 (talk) 21:09, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
