this is simply a press release and provides very little information on the team. The quotes provided are thoroughly pointless and of questionable POV Drdisque 02:13, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Apparently, Wood Brothers and JTG Racing have merged their operations and are now one team. Should this be reflected in Wikipedia? I propose taking both the JTG and Wood Brothers articles (the racing section anyway), and merging them both into one, new article, Wood Brothers/JTG Racing. Feedback and consenus, of course, are welcome. --D-Day What up? Am I cool, or what? 13:26, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just merged them. Please adjust as neccessary. --D-Day I'm all ears How can I improve? 16:09, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to whomever merged this. I'm not sure how to properly reply to the other poster (Disq - or whomever he is), but I wanted to say that I'm not sure which page you are referring about this being nothing but a "press release" or whatever. Maybe you were referring to the "lone" Wood Brothers page, and not the long detailed (and now merged) page?

This long Wood Brothers page as it exists now is NOT and has never been originated as a PR stumping post. I wrote the original incarnation complete with the history and details. I am NOT a Wiki expert. I AM - however - a lifelong friend of the Wood family and many team members (not a paid employee thank you).

I do beleive the page has been appended since my initial creation to include current info which is WONDERFUL! (as I don't purport to know everything and don't have the time to update it always). My only hope is that anyone adding to this now truly-awesome page posts only fair, accurate, and verifiable informaiton relative to the team and its history. I know that everything I psoted is verifiable and accurate - and I assume all updates shall remain true to form. As stated, I'm not a wikian so I'm not adept at doing the hotlinks to every paragraph. If someone wants to tackle that task, it would be awesome!

Otherwise, thanks for your help and let's all remember that these pages are like writing history for future generations...which to me, is both an honor and an obligation to be accurate. Thanks to everyone who works hard to keep wiki going!

David Pearson in "notables" list[edit]

It surprises me that "The Silver Fox" is not listed as a notable driver for the Wood Brothers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaeaman787 (talkcontribs) 00:36, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major Promblem with Page[edit]

the page now only features JTG racing while in reality, JTG spilt away from Wood Bros. We need the old Wood Bros. page back and a seprate page for JTG. I will try to fix page by reverting the previous edits. but JTG racing is no longer with Wood Bros. Racing. Braandpantiesmatch (talk) 18:46, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invented the modern pit stop??[edit]

I rather think the mechanics on the German pre-WW2 Mercedes and Auto-Union teams might take issue with this rather dubious statement. Mr Larrington (talk) 19:46, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

they might, but it's generally accepted that the Woods first recognized the importance of the time spent in pitstops, and focused on coordinated teamwork to minimize it. Which, as noted in the article, is why Ford used them in the Indy 500. Bear in mind that the 500 was then closely watched by F1 teams, so the modern F1 practice is also directly traceable to the Woods. I'm going to remove the "dubious" note in the article, since there's nothing dubious about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:589:380:130B:0:0:0:BA4D (talk) 15:10, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
