Tag in "Further Reading" section[edit]

This tag struck me as out of place in a section called "Further reading". Looking at the history (the tag was added sometime in September 2008) it seems that this book used to be in the list of general references. Was it perhaps moved to the "Further Reading" section because it could not be determined what material in the article belonged to it? If so, I think general references are okay and not everything has to have a footnote after it, so I think the book could be reinstated. If it is simply recommended reading and there is nothing in the article from the book, then shouldn't that tag be removed since the section doesn't have much to do with references? I believe the Stork is endangered and being considered for placement on the threatened list

"In South America, it is resident, but in North America, it may disperse to as far as South America."

I'd fix it if I knew what the original author meant. "It is resident in South America, but sometimes dispersed as far as North America."? IAmNitpicking (talk) 17:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

North America issue[edit]

"the only member of the family to breed in North America." This is true in birders' terminology where North America is used for just US +Canada ("ABA Area"), but geographically I believe it is not true... North America properly includes Mexico and sometimes Central America as well, so the Jabiru should also qualify. Vultur~enwiki (talk) 18:34, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
