Blacklisted Links Found on Zoho Corporation[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected links on Zoho Corporation which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The addition will be logged at one of these locations: local or global If you believe the specific link should be exempt from the blacklist, you may request that it is white-listed. Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. Please do not remove the tag until the issue is resolved. You may set the invisible parameter to "true" whilst requests to white-list are being processed. Should you require any help with this process, please ask at the help desk.

Foundation Date[edit]

This article containing two different dates of company foundation 1995 in infobox and 1996 in Introduction paragraph. Wikibaji 06:04, 28 November 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikibaji (talkcontribs)

Thank you for pointing this out, Wikibaji (talk · contribs). I've fixed this in the article. The correct date is 1996.

Arakali, Harichandan (2016-06-06). "The Bootstrapped Buddhist: How Sridhar Vembu built Zoho". Forbes India. Archived from the original on 2016-10-21. Retrieved 2016-10-21.

The article notes:

But nothing else at Zoho Corp is child’s play: The 48-year-old Vembu is deadly serious about how he runs the company, which he co-founded as AdventNet Inc in 1996 with his brothers Kumar and Sekar, as well as Tony Thomas, an entrepreneur who wrote an early version of the software that would become WebNMS, the company’s first product which found buyers in telecom network equipment makers like Cisco Systems, Inc. (Thomas was three years senior to Vembu at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.)

...

AdventNet became Zoho Corporation Pvt Ltd only in 2009, and it was around that time that the direction in which the company was headed crystallised. ...

useful source[edit]

Here [1] is a long interview with the founder. Might be a useful source, as well as being interesting. Jtbobwaysf (talk) 06:35, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another useful source here [2]. Have fun! Jtbobwaysf (talk) 09:41, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting the controversy section[edit]

Does the controversy section deserve to stand? A small Twitter fight does not demonstrate independent notability, and in any case, the article is about the corporation, not any off-the-record events its current CEO might have been involved in. HalfdanRagnarsson (talk) 15:03, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the guy is also the company's founder, and as I read it it's not about a "small Twitter fight" as you put it but about him attending and speaking at an ultra-right event, something that was picked up by main media outlets in India (as seen in the refs). It would better belong to the guy's bio, but the guy has no notability independent from Zoho and so details of his biography will perhaps be incorporated in this article. — kashmīrī TALK 23:46, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If anything, the number of sources is a bit excessive. 132.183.13.26 (talk) 19:29, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Sridhar Vembu into Zoho Corporation[edit]

No indication that Sridhar Vembu enjoys independent notability from Zoho Corporation – rather, he is known only as its founder and CEO — kashmīrī TALK 14:35, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retain as-is. No substantive reason to merge. Independent coverage exists of the subject's efforts outside of Zoho, though, as expected the coverage is weighted to his role as the founder / CEO. Ktin (talk) 18:39, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose Vembu is quite a celebrity in his own right, would be incorrect to merge. There is plenty of WP:OSE for other ceo's that have much less notability and they remain as separate articles. Last, we could not merge the Sridhar_Vembu#2020_controversy content as it is unrelated to Zoho. We don't just delete articles to get rid of controversial content. • Oppose passes WP:GNG.He has been awarded India's fourth highest civilain award the Padma Shri.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 23:01, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose No valid reasons for merge. He himself fulfills all required notability guidelines. Okpty (talk) 13:20, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retain as-is. With his appointment to the NSAB of India, it makes sense to keep him an independent entity. --Anupam wiki (talk) 06:41, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • NO MERGE: Nope, There is extreme notability in this case, merging would only make that page long and confusing, on additional, irrelevant note, I think the administrators would love to have a discussion with you about your username, Do read WP:UN -- KindCowboy69 — Preceding undated comment added 12:58, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, no merge, given the consensus not to. Klbrain (talk) 19:24, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
