Zombie (Resident Evil)Zombies in Resident Evil – The title of this article is not exactly correct. "Zombie" is not the name of a character, but a type of monster. A generic kind of monster, that did not originate from the work itself. To be precise, the article is about the use of zombies IN Resident Evil, not the character "Zombie" from Resident Evil. • Support: I think the nominator's rationale is sound. Zombie (Resident Evil) could still be helpful as a search term. Haleth (talk) 04:29, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Nominator's reasoning is sound. Not a fan of using brackets for disambiguation when the same disambiguation can be achieved more naturalistically either. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 10:23, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Starzoner (talk) 02:07, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Given there's no one particular "zombie" in RE, this new title makes more sense. --Masem (t) 15:00, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, made sense. enjoyer|talk 23:20, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on the rewrite, guys! Darkknight2149 07:08, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you! I've already added that source into the article a few hours ago. Might look into expanding the prose with its contents eventually, or if someone else feels like giving it a go. ;-) Haleth (talk) 07:12, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

idk[edit]

I get your summary User:Haleth (I'm sorry, I don't know how to ping), just thought it was an old source. But, shouldn't Lycans will also be mentioned on it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.149.124.50 (talk) 10:55, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The issue here is not because of questions about the reliability or age of the source. It’s because it does not contain any discussion which link the Lycans to the franchise’s traditional zombies. The not-quite-zombie creatures which are listed on the article are present because the secondary sources cited do discuss them within the context of zombies. We now know that there is a great diversity of monstrous creatures in Village just like in the earlier games, but at least one source (PCGamesN) identified the moroi as the closest equivalent to traditional zombies. Hope that helps. Haleth (talk) 11:56, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The guy moved the title name of this article into Zombies (Resident Evil) without consensus. 49.149.113.40 (talk) 12:09, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Will get to this soon Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 23:33, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Six GA Criteria[edit]

1. Article is well-written. A few grammar errors here and there, but those have been patched up and do not hinder readability in a significant way.

2. No OR, all info is cited in the article.

3. Broad in coverage. Covers multiple aspects of the subject.

4. Article appears neutral, and does not appear to hold a significantly negative nor positive stance on the subject.

5. Article appears stable. No notable instances of vandalism I can see.

6. Only one fair use image. Its fair use rationale is a bit outdated, so I'd suggest fixing this.

Lead[edit]

-No issues I can see.

Development[edit]

-I'd specify that The Evil Dead and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are movies for reference.

-Perhaps you could explain tank controls? It's hyperlinked, but I feel the definition is beneficial for understanding why it was such a big deal.

-Specify who Count Orlok is for similar reasons.

-What do you mean by "even though it is capable of attacking from a distance by design"? In terms of the in-universe capabilities of the Licker, or the overall out of universe concept? I'd specify for clarity.

-What is a "lycan" in the context of the series? Is it an enemy, or just a descriptor for the werewolf like enemies encountered from an out of universe perspective?

Appearances[edit]

-What is a "Progenitor virus strain"?

-I'd put the Umbrella Corporation description before the description of the Progenitor virus, as the current reading reads as if the Corporation itself causes it and not the virus, which may be confusing for some.

-Is there a need to specify the (B.O.W.) acronym, given it's not mentioned in the article again?

-I'd cut the "which makes for a fearsome appearance" with the zombie dog description due to the potentially biased description, and I'd swap out facade with appearance.

-"Chief Brian Irons' suggestion to the K9 unit that the breed be used as the police dog for the Raccoon Police Department." Is Chief Brian Irons a character in universe or out of universe? I'm very confused as someone not familiar with the Resident Evil series.

-Specify what a fluke is for audience understanding.

-I notice only some of the variants are bolded. Is there a reason for this?

Reception and analysis[edit]

-Could you specify what the "Ur-Text" is for reader understanding?

-Does Cite 2 need to be cited four times in the opening paragraph? It seems unnecessary unless there's a reason for it.

  • Because some editors or readers might mistaken it as unsource sometimes. Greenish Pickle! (🔔) 00:42, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If it's all from the same source I don't see how anyone would see it as uncited, but it's not exactly something that will fail a GAR, so if you feel it best to keep it, then I'd say go for it. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 00:45, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

-Why is Umbrella Corporation hyperlinked in the Reception and not the Appearances section?

-"particularly if the player character walked past another window" is there a reason this is important? Did the dog leap out of a window? Specify for reference.

-Who is Jamie Russell, and why is his commentary important? Specify that he is the author of a book citing this.

-Could you update the usage rationale on the Licker image? I'd say its use here is justified but it needs the proper rationale on its image page, since those haven't been changed in a good few years.

Overall[edit]

Very well done article overall, especially since it's on such a broad concept. Very good read, just patch up the above and I'd be happy to pass this article. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 00:12, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
