Eight Elvises[edit]

5x expanded by Sven Manguard (talk). Self nominated at 16:59, 1 December 2013 (UTC).

  • The article is long enough, the hook is verified and interesting, the subject is notable, and expansion is 5x (almost to the character). Teemu08 (talk) 20:04, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
  • The "despite" doesn't make much sense; it implies a causal relationship between selling for a high price and being seen in public. I think the following is better:
  • ALT1: ... that Andy Warhol's Eight Elvises, which sold for $100 million, hasn't been seen in public since the 1960s and its location is currently unknown? MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 20:31, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Mandarax What about ALT2? I tweaked the wording jut a tad to put the emphasis back on the mysteriousness of its status, rather than the price. Sven Manguard Wha? 22:56, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. My tick is reiterating the one given by Teemu08; all I checked was the year, the only bit of additional information in the new hook. I added a duplicate ref to the article immediately following this information to satisfy DYK rules. (Strangely, I thought I saw this painting at a museum a few years ago; I guess it was just a similar piece.) MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 23:32, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
