Elliott Corbett Memorial State Recreation Site[edit]

Created by Orygun (talk). Self nominated at 18:33, 29 March 2014 (UTC).

  • It looks like there are three issues raised in comments above. First, is a request for more interesting hook. The “hooky” fact inside the hook is that the park is located on the rim of a caldera. I included the rest of the info because hooks are allowed 200 characters and I though additional facts might add to the interest for some people plus they offer the opportunity to link to several other Wikipedia articles. In any case, here’s alternative hook:
ALT: ... that Elliott Corbett Memorial State Recreation Site is a wilderness park located along the southern caldera rim of Blue Lake Crater in the Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon?
Believe ALT hook also resolves second issue, i.e. fact that not all of the hook info can be verified on-line. After removing the "63 acres" fact, rest of the hook can be varied with on-line source. While I’m pretty sure appropriately documented facts can be used in a DYK hook even if the source isn’t on-line, ALT hook can be verified on-line so DYK should be ok in any case. Finally, I’m not sure what the QPQ issue is. As noted above, I did review of Magnetic anomaly DYK to cover as my QPQ. The review cited in comment was used for previous DYK nomination. If there’s something wrong with the Magnetic anomaly review, please let me know. Just to be sure I’ve done a second QPQ for Washington County Fire District 2.--Orygun (talk) 21:32, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT hook. QPQ resolved with above. Sorry, my error. Did not see Magnetic anomaly review on my first scan of user contributions & misunderstood the 'Reviewed:Magnetic anomaly' above to be a user named magnetic claiming to have reviewed this nomination. Oops. :) Apologies for mistake made by new reviewer. Looks good to be promoted to DYK Canuckle (talk) 19:53, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
