Protection template[edit]

Powys[edit]

{{editprotected}} If the infobox is given |unitary wales=[[Powys]], it doesn't give a link for "List of places in Powys". I have determined that this is due to a misplaced entry. There are two changes required to fix this:

  • There are three lines reading:
| [[Gwynedd]] = [[List of places in Gwynedd|Gwynedd]]
| [[Powys]] = [[List of places in Powys|Powys]]
| [[Wrexham (county borough)|Wrexham]] = [[List of places in Wrexham county borough|Wrexham]]

Cut the middle line to your paste buffer. The lines will now read: 

| [[Gwynedd]] = [[List of places in Gwynedd|Gwynedd]]
| [[Wrexham (county borough)|Wrexham]] = [[List of places in Wrexham county borough|Wrexham]]
  • There are two lines reading:
| [[Pembrokeshire]] = [[List of places in Pembrokeshire|Pembrokeshire]]
}}}}

In between these, paste the line which was cut above. The lines will now read: 

| [[Pembrokeshire]] = [[List of places in Pembrokeshire|Pembrokeshire]]

There are two other problems not directly related to the above. Both may be fixed by the insertion of non-existent lines.

  • there are two lines (as a result of the above changes) reading:

| [[Wrexham (county borough)|Wrexham]] = [[List of places in Wrexham county borough|Wrexham]]

Insert one line so that they read:

Insert one line so that they read:

The last one was due to this edit being incomplete; the first two (Powys and Wrexham), were due to this edit.

sorry, not done - not completely anyway. You added [[Rhondda Cynon Taff]] (two "f"s) but it was [[Rhondda Cynon Taf]] (one "f") that was required (see above) - the two "f" form was already in there. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:01, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, indeed there isn't - but when the same set of values comes up in two different switch statements, it's easier to check that they correspond if they're in the same order as each other.

  1. Further to feedback at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation pages with links#Highland and infobox link problem, please replace the link in Template:Infobox UK place/local to disambiguation page Highland with piped link to Highland (council area):

Thanks Keith. On point 5, you overlooked that the amendment was needed in three places. You've fixed the Herefordshire instance, but the ones under Shropshire and under Worcestershire need the same change:

Newport, Wales[edit]
