This template was considered for deletion on 23 September 2012. The result of the discussion was "no consensus".

Question[edit]

Would it be ok to add an optional publictransit parameter? template:Infobox museum has this and it would seem useful here too. Tjmather (talk) 23:02, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Parameter Additions[edit]

Hello all,

I randomly came across Category:Pages using infobox convention center with unknown parameters, and was attempting to fix a few pages on that list. I added the parameter {{{expanded}}} to this template because it's advertised on the documentation, but I also just thought I would send anyone invested in this page some parameters which a lot of pages use, but which aren't in the template, in case anyone thought it would be a good idea to add them.

Most used parameters that are not in the template

{{{architect}}} is the most used non-existent parameter, used a lot to detail who designed the convention center.
{{{tenants}}} is used for lists of organizations, usually sports teams, which rent the centers. (Ex: Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre)
- Hainan International Convention And Exhibition Center uses a variant, {{{teams}}}, but it is the only page to do so.
Slightly Different: Quite a few templates use depreciated syntax in order to generate two images. The above-linked Brisbane Convention Centre is one example, but there's also Spokane Convention Center and Kansas City Convention Center. It looks as though these pages are looking for a {{{logo}}} parameter

Mapframe maps?[edit]

{{Infobox building}} and {{Infobox shopping mall}} have both recently been updated to automatically show dynamic mapframe maps by default. I am proposing to similarly show such maps by default for this template, with the same optional parameters to adjust the size, frame center point, initial zoom level, and marker icon; and to similarly allow the mapframe map to be turned off using |mapframe=no. See Template:Infobox building#Mapframe maps and Template talk:Infobox building#Change to the map parameter so Kartographer works for further information.
