Proposed new look[edit]

This user request to be unblocked is on hold while waiting for a comment by the blocking administrator.

  • Blocking administrator: [[User:{{{1}}}|{{{1}}}]] ([[User talk:{{{1}}}|talk]])
  • Reviewing administrator: {{{3}}}

After the blocking administrator has left a comment, please replace this template with one of the following sets of templates:

{{unblock|1={{{2}}}}}

{{unblock reviewed|1={{{2}}}|decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

{{tlx|1=unblock|2={{{2}}}}}

{{subst:Request accepted|1=reason}}

It's aligned to the left, the user options for the administrator are more appropriate, and it fits more with the Unblock template.

This user request to have their autoblock removed is on hold while waiting for a comment by the blocking administrator.

  • Blocking administrator: [[User:{{{1}}}|{{{1}}}]] ([[User talk:{{{1}}}|talk]])
  • Reviewing administrator: {{{5}}}

After the blocking administrator has left a comment, please replace this template with the following template:

{{unblock-auto|1=127.0.0.1|2=<nowiki>Original block message</nowiki>|3=Not provided|4=}}

And this is what Unblock-auto on hold would look like. mechamind90 21:16, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clock icons[edit]

This template currently uses File:Orologio oro.svg, which is licensed with an attribution-required license so a link to the source page at Wikimedia Commons is required. There is a CC0 version of this icon which don't require any attribution or link at File:Appointment yellow.svg. Any objections to switching this template (as well as Template:Unblock-un on hold and Template:Unblock-auto on hold) over to the slightly different public-domain version of this icon? --Ahecht (TALK

 Done since there were no objections after a week. --Ahecht (TALK

"Reason" parameter should not have an effect on the heading[edit]

The heading says by default: "This user's unblock request is on hold because the reviewer is waiting for a comment by the blocking administrator." -- There is pretty much no imaginable reason for changing this text, as this is exactly the purpose of the template. Any detailed explanations can be given below the unblock request.

The "reason" parameter, used by the blocked user to describe the reason for their appeal in {{unblock}}, should not have an effect on the heading of {{unblock on hold}}. It currently overwrites the default heading, which makes no sense at all.

I'll rename the "reason" parameter to "heading" if there are no objections in the next months. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:18, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated that case to |hold-reason=. |reason= was also used for |2=. — JJMC89(T·C) 04:46, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Is there a template that indicates that one is reviewing an unblock request pending a response from the appellant? I know there's {{Unblock on hold}} for if we're pending a response from blocking admin, and that when that template is used an individual unblock is highlighted at CAT:UNBLOCK, but I can't find one for the case where I'm merely waiting on the blocked person to respond. If not, would it be a decent idea to add such functionality to this template? I think that this would be useful, as it would reduce the amount of clicking on unblock request entries only to see that others are already handling them. I can get working on a draft template if this might be worthwhile — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:43, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
