RfC[edit]

{{RFCmedia}}

I do not think the XB and NDS abbreviations are warranted. I think Xbox is short enough to not need any abbreviation whatsoever, and I think DS is much more familiar to readers than NDS. SharkD (talk) 01:18, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to contradict itself: I would think "XB" is more widely used than "XBOX", since the latter is just an alternative capitalization rather than an abbreviation. "DS" still has the potential to be confused with the Famicom Disk System. Just64helpin (talk) 01:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Checked some sites I have bookmarked (Gamefaqs, 1up, OC remix, etc), and I have never seen the "XB" abbreviation before, and Google very rarely shows it without also putting (Xbox) very close to it. "NDS" is less rare (OCremix uses it). Nifboy (talk) 02:11, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS, this breaks the template this template is used in and would require all pages using it to be updated. Nifboy (talk) 02:13, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, here, "NDS" makes me think of one of the old, obscure video game platforms the title is meant to distinguish itself from. SharkD (talk) 02:19, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Further comments should be made at the project's talk page. Nifboy (talk) 02:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sort switches[edit]

It might be better to optimize the template by sorting the switches in order of popularity. The sizes of the categories (such as Category:Xbox games) can be used as a rough guide. SharkD (talk) 23:56, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
