Could somebody update this to use either the new WMF logo or the puzzle globe? KMF (talk) 18:12, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 23 February 2018[edit]

  1. Please update the WMF logo to File:Wikimedia Foundation logo - vertical.svg. The new black/white one which is also used for FoundationWiki.
  2. Replace banned by the Wikimedia Foundation from editing Wikimedia sites with [[m:WMF Global Ban Policy|banned by the Wikimedia Foundation from editing Wikimedia sites]].

1 is for the comment above (just formalizing) and 2 is for the reference of the reason behind the ban. — regards, Revi 08:19, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done I thought it looked better without the words under the logo, so I used a slightly different version. Trust this is okay — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:41, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Add __NONEWSECTIONLINK__ so the flower popup doesn't show up anymore. 1989 (talk) 19:58, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also {{nobots}} so bots stop editing the user pages. 1989 (talk) 20:14, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
 Partly done Transcluding {{nobots}} will not work. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:25, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Could <includeonly>{{#switch:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|3=[[Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery]][[Category:Wikipedians banned by the Wikimedia Foundation|{{BASEPAGENAME}}]]|2=[[Category:Wikipedians banned by the Wikimedia Foundation|{{BASEPAGENAME}}]]}}</includeonly> be changed to <includeonly>{{#switch:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|3=[[Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery]]|2=[[Category:Wikipedians banned by the Wikimedia Foundation|{{BASEPAGENAME}}]]}}</includeonly> so only user pages are shown at this category? @RoySmith: Since you requested this change, would you do the deeds? 1989 (talk) 06:05, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that was 2 years ago. I don't remember anything about the context, so I'm going to pass. But thanks for the ping. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:43, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: looks like a consensus needs to be established for this alteration. Please garner the needed consensus before using the {{edit template-protected}} template again. When the category was added back in 2019, the es was "fixed categorisation – template is sometimes employed only at the talk page". Perhaps the user page had not been created and the tagging editor didn't want to create it just for the tag, so they only tagged the talk page. With all the previous discussion about this, and because there are thousands of instances where both the subject page and talk page are sorted to the same category, or one is sorted to a subcategory while the other populates a parent category and so on, and that doesn't seem to be a problem for most editors, a discussion and consensus needs to be achieved. Also, fyi, if you don't want to see the "flower popup", try the following:
  1. Go to Preferences → Editing
  2. Scroll down to Discussion pages
  3. Uncheck the box Enable quick topic adding
  4. Click Save
You may need to purge your browser cache to ensure that you don't see the flower talk page experience in the future. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 18:02, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 15 April 2023[edit]

Please implement my changes in the sandbox. Here is what has changed:

  • Added the {{documentation}} template inside noinclude for documentation on use of this template.
  • Some minor wording fixes as well as providing relevant links to Wikipedia's banning policy, in the event a local ban is enacted by WMF.
  • Added account information as already present on sockmaster, LTA, and banned user templates. This allows for administrators and editors to try to discern useful information as to why the user is banned, but of course the information might not be made public.
  • Added "global" parameter which can be set to "no" to specify that a user was just banned by WMF from one particular project. In this case it will just link to Wikipedia's banning policy and add an administrator note to consult with the Wikimedia Foundation before unblocking (to avoid a repeat of WP:FRAM, somewhat).
  • Added "time" parameter for time limited global and local bans.

The point in all these changes is to make it a more versatile template for the WMF so they do not have to copy their own code for their own cases. They can just use what is provided by the community. Aasim - Herrscher of Wikis ❄️ 02:29, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
