Early Life and Career[edit]

2000-2018[edit]

Mohamed Amir Dollie was born on 14 January 2000 in Rondebosch East, an area in Cape Town, South Africa[1] and is of German and Swiss descent.[2][3] In an interview with MTV (TV channel), he spoke about wanting to become a rapper at a very young age after winning multiple poem competitions at school and being introduced to YMCMB at the age of 11 and recognizing the talent and messages of his long life idol, Lil Wayne.[4]

Amir went on to finishing his schooling at Garlandale High School, then immediately developing his own record label, The Deepnd Records and assigning his best friend to the COO position of the label.[5][6] He then planned to move to Los Angeles, California full time, but never had the opportunity just YET. At the age of eighteen, Kidd Cartel released his debut mixtape album The Deepnd Vol.1 on Soundcloud featuring three of his high school friends.

2019-present[edit]

During the rise of 2019, Dollie went on to landing his first ever international collaboration with (who is now referred to him as a brother) North Carolina rapper, AntWill,[7] followed by another U.S artist that recently featured on WorldStarHipHop, LiDre.[8]

On 25 April 2020, Kidd Cartel released his debut EP Y.A.W.I (You Are Worth It) which featured LiDre and Antwill.[9]

Later that year, Kidd went on to releasing what would be his most notable project to date, the EP, African American.[10] His hit song Changes, featuring New York artists, Lyrical Young Lo racked up almost fifty thousand streams in two months.[11]

He then goes onto releasing his latest EP, Rise Of Tha Kidd, which he again features North Carolina artist, AntWill, [12]and then another U.S artist that he linked with along the way, KO Beverly [13]

The EP would soon be followed by Rise Of Tha Kidd II which is set to release on October 29, 2021 on all major platforms.
