I agree the use of #REDIRECT in the edit was unfortunate, but it looks to me like it was done in good faith. I think the user was trying to wikilink and thought REDIRECT was required for that.

What happened

I find it astonishing that somebody can create an article to launch a personal attack.

I deleted it.

Gratzer published some 200 articles and wrote two books. Hauskalainen concentrates on one sentence in one article which was used (without consultation) by Giuliani\'s Campaign. Giuliani\'s advertisement was attacked by some in the media.

Hauskalainen, an epidomologist, slanders all of Gratzer\'s work, painting him a dilettant, who should not be a peer reviewer for so many publications.

Interestingly, two recent articles in Lancet and Lancet Oncology show that Gratzer\'s point is well taken:

...if we measure a health care system by how well it serves its sick citizens, American medicine excels. Five-year cancer survival rates bear this out....The survival rate for prostate cancer is 81.2% here, yet 61.7% in France and down to 44.3% in England a striking variation.

Gratzer writes in detail about this in his WSJ op-ed:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121668625082172105.html

If Hauskalainen wants to write about the Giuliani controversy, he should write a separate article and link it to Gratzer\'s article and Giuliani\'s article.

I realize that Hauskalainen is in favor of socialized medicine (see the warning he has received for his contribution to Sicko) and he should be free to express his opinion but not by slandering Gratzer.

Soon after watching a basketball game wherein I heard Marv Albert use the term \"Bang\" whenever a player made a great three-point shot, I went on wikipedia to contribute this term under the section called \"Quotations, calls and utterances\" in the Marv Albert article page. This is most definitely not vandalism. I am a sincere user who just wanted to contribute another popular Albert quotation. I will add my contribution again in the hope that it will not be deleted this time.

An anonymous user removed a bad redirect (not a terrible redirect, but certainly a non-sequitur). I guess it\'s better in this case to play it safe and revert, but... it is a false positive.

Maybe the heuristic should be \"blanking the page unless it\'s just a one-line article and the editor was a known user\" (which would still catch this though)

I made a very reasonable edit, changing \"Both proteins form tetrameric complexes to function in which each subunit can bind one molecule of biotin\" to \"Both proteins are functional as homotetrameric complexes which stoichiometrically bind biotin.\" This inane \"ClueBot\" script probably disliked the inclusion of \"homo\" which is a valid prefix for oligomers to distinguish for instance, homotetramers from heterotetramers.

Please make the following edits to the ClueBot script: when regular expressions (regexps) match to \"homo\" on scientific pages (especially ones in the fields of biology, biochemistry, and biophysics), do not automatically revert -- these terms are ubiquitously employed, from \"homodimer\" to \"homo sapiens\" to \"homogeneous\" to \"homologous\" (and the list goes on).

This section was added to the entry and reflects direct talking points from a political campaign. In particular, the section begins with a statement that profers two subjective opinions: \'She may be known as a moderate\' and \'but she\'s not a moderate\'. Either of these perspectives are political and have no place in an encyclopedia article. A hand-picked list of particular votes from a government official who has cast over 15,000 votes can only be viewed as biased as well. This edit should stand, and more diligence needs to be kept in order to keep these entries from being political.

Saying this: \"Her role as Vivien Leigh\'s earthy friend Contessa Magda Terribili-Gonzales in the screen version of Tennessee Williams\' The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (1961) brought Lenya an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress\" is a stretch.

It should read (changes in all-caps): \"Her role as WARREN BEATTY\'S PIMP Contessa Magda Terribili-Gonzales in the screen version of Tennessee Williams\' The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (1961) brought Lenya an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress.\"

She was essentially a pimp in Rome, using young, handsome men like Beatty to get money/jewelry/lavish, expensive things from old, wealthy, and widowed or lonely women.

I recognize ClueBot probably flagged my use of the word \"pimp,\" but it\'s MUCH more accurate than \"Vivien Leigh\'s earthy friend\"???? What friend?

Thank you for your work.
