About Me[edit]

I am currently in my final year of study in the field of Design for Digital Media at the University of Hull Scarborough Campus. I am a qualified carpenter and joiner by trade; with advanced woodwork. I have been working in the building industry for the past 25 years. However, due to an industrial accident I have changed my career path and aim to work as a freelance designer once graduated.

Education[edit]

I attended St Augustine's School. I then studied at Westwood Annex before taking on an apprenticeship with Balfour BeattyPLC where I achieved a City and Guilds in advanced carpentry and joinery. I have worked for various companies during the course of my career in woodwork, gaining many skills across the building trade. After my accident in 2004 I was informed by doctors to give up woodwork to prevent paralysis. After studying at night school and gaining a distinction in AutoCAD design, I decided to explore my creative side and study in Digital Media and Design at Yorkshire Coast College gaining a foundation degree. This has led me to where I am today.

Interests[edit]

I have a keen interest in many forms of design and I try to learn as much as I can about the different areas and trends within the industry. My main discipline is 3D design, including 3D animation and 3D modelling.

Wikipedia Project[edit]

My current project at university requires me to write an article on Dr Everlyn Ellerman. This is a group project, the progress can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Xlucky_charmx/Everlyn_ellerman
